Job Description:
The General Database Manager is responsible for managing, organizing, maintaining, and developing the department’s information systems and databases so that information is recorded, stored, and accessible in an accurate, secure, and timely manner. He or she plays a key role in ensuring data quality, maintaining confidentiality, and providing technical support to the department’s reporting and decision-making processes.
Basic duties and responsibilities:
- Design, management and maintenance of office databases
- Implementation and monitoring of information security and backup systems
- Ensuring the accuracy, completeness and standardization of information
- Preparing reports, statistics, and analytical information for leadership
- Providing suggestions for improving and developing information systems
- Coordination with relevant departments in the field of recording and using information.
- Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards in the database sector
Job Requirements:
- Possess at least a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in database management or information systems
- Proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle or similar
- Complete familiarity with the principles of information security, database protection, and backup systems.
- Ability to prepare reports and analyze information from the database
- Proficiency in working with related software and information systems.
- Ability to coordinate and work effectively with different teams and departments of the office
- Familiarity with applicable administrative laws, regulations, and policies
- Having problem-solving skills, accuracy in work, and maintaining confidentiality of information
- Relative proficiency in the country’s official languages (Dari and Pashto) and familiarity with technical English are considered an advantage.
