Job Description:

The Business Development Officer will be a vital field-based role responsible for identifying, vetting and managing key supply sources and partnerships to enhance Horizon Bridge Group’s end-to-end logistics offerings and improve client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site market research and site visits to continually expand network of verified suppliers, vendors, warehouses suitable for client operations
  • Vet and evaluate new vendors and partners across different product/service categories on criteria such as quality, reliability, pricing, production/delivery capacity among others
  • Manage negotiations and maintain strategic relationships with existing/potential partners to ensure favorable commercial terms for the company
  • Serve as key point of contact for clients to understand evolving operational needs and procure customized solutions
  • Proactively identify opportunities for greater client account penetration and work with team to enhance existing services
  • Obtain hands-on experience of latest products, technologies, supply innovations relevant for client operations for improvement recommendations
  • Prepare weekly fieldwork reports, vendor profiles, partner risk assessments and opportunity proposals for management
  • This is a remote/work-from-home position
  • The contract duration is for 3 months with possibility of extension based on performance
  • Deadlines for assigned task orders must be met reliably

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’ s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain or Business Management
  • High integrity, work ethic and accountability in unsupervised remote settings
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Resourceful self-starter able to achieve goals and objectives independently
  • Physically fit and able to carry out market visits and inspection of facilities, products etc.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and local languages (Pashto/Dari)
  • Familiarity with the Kabul markets and business environment
  • Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
