OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
To ensure that effective WHO country presence is established to implement WHO country cooperation strategies that are aligned with Member State’s health and development agendas, and harmonized with the United Nations country teams.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The incumbent will perform all or part of the following, and other related responsibilities as required by the needs of the office.
â Deliver services and transactions in one or more of the specialized operational areas and subdisciplines (human resources management, procurement, and/or information technology management Advisory
â Brief clients, staff and partners on the procedures, rules, and regulations for the relevant service lines.
â Maintain consistency in approach and compliance with the respective procedures, rules and regulations in the delivery of services and transactions. Administration
â Deliver the relevant processes and standard transactions, services and work products, in alignment with business plans and adherence to rules, regulations, and procedures.
â Technically support training in respective area of business operations support for clients and staff.
â Identify areas in which processes and procedures can be improved to deliver optimal client service, efficiency and effectiveness.
Information technology support services
Knowledge and Skills to provide elements of information technology support services to support the day-to-day operation of the collaboration and network infrastructure as well as common applications, such as, shared directory, and the implementation, administration and maintenance of select associated hardware and software.
Network and Hardware:
1.Monitor and maintain local server’s LAN and e-mail system including creating and modifying accounts.
2.Administer and maintain disk storage backups.
3.Ensure that printers and photocopiers are properly configured and are available via the network. If necessary, to propose new printing solutions.
4.Configure all the CO workstations and laptop computers (including those of training participants and facilitators).
5.Assist in the evaluation and follow-up of the needs for new hardware.
Technical support and training:
6.Provide full IT support to meetings and events organized in Iraq WHO office as per ASO directives and instructions.
7.Implement under the guidance of ITT unit in EMRO, specific ITT services needed in the CO (intranet, IPSEC, Fire Wall, Checkpoint secure client, GSM, GPN, VC etc.…).
8.Identify technical problems, to solve them directly or refer as appropriate. To provide assistance (first and second level user support) and simple training on basic computing skills and office software features.
9.Maintain common office software and ensure that virus scanning software is kept up to date on all computers.
10.Organize storage and access to software and ensure proper documentation and licensure.
Management:
11.Maintain log files and configuration tables.
12.Maintain contacts with IT suppliers of materials and services.
13.Monitor the stock of computer consumables. Conception/development of IT tools.
14.Perform basic programming tasks such as creating and updating high priority MS Office templates (i.e. forms).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: Completion of secondary education. Training and certification in one or more UN operational service areas or system
Experience
Essential: A minimum of five years of work experience relevant to the position (administrative support services and transactions in the operational support area, including information technology management support).
Desirable: â Experience in administrative support positions within WHO or another United Nations agency. â Experience in Oracle-based systems or another enterprise resource planning system
Skills
â Knowledge of WHO’s support procedures, and practices in one or more of the following specialized operations’ support disciplines: financial support services, human resources, procurement and information technology.
â Ability to brief and explain basic administrative procedures to other members of staff.
â Strong interpersonal skills
â Flexibility to adapt to competing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

REMUNERATION
Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 20,537 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
