Job Description:

The Child Protection (CP) Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the implementation,

coordination, and monitoring of integrated Child Protection interventions under IHA,

BPRM, and DRA projects in Kandahar Province. The role focuses on enhancing the

protective environment for women, girls, and boys, improving access to age- and gender-

responsive child protection services, and strengthening community-based child

protection mechanisms. This includes leading the design and execution of PSS activities,

case management, and community capacity-building initiatives.

Reports to: Head of Office

Staff reporting to this post:

Direct: Senior CP Officer

Indirect: other staff

Budget Responsibilities: Yes

Role Dimensions: The post holder will establish good working relationship with project

staff within internal environment.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :

1. Program Implementation & Coordination

§ Oversee the delivery of Child Protection services across IHA, BPRM, and DRA

projects, ensuring the integration of gender-responsive, age-appropriate, and

survivor-centered approaches.

§ Coordinate the establishment and management of Child and Girl Friendly Spaces

(C&GFS) within health facilities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for

children.

§ Support the implementation of community-based Child Protection interventions,

including the formation and training of Community-Based Child Protection Networks

(CBCPNs).

§ Ensure all case management and referral services are provided in line with the Child

Protection Information Management System (CPIMS+) standards.

§ Coordinate with local partners, community leaders, healthcare providers, and local

authorities to enhance referral pathways and access to protection services.

2. Staff Management & Capacity Building § Supervise and provide technical guidance to Senior Child Protection Officer, CP Officer CM/MHPSS, and Case Workers § Conduct Training Needs Assessments and develop capacity-building plans for staff, community actors, and service providers. § Organize and facilitate training workshops on child rights in Islamic Perspective, CP case management, PSS, and gender-responsive care, ensuring that all interventions are trauma-informed and survivor-centered. § Conduct coaching and supervision sessions to ensure high-quality service delivery across the Child Protection program. 3. Community Engagement & Awareness § Lead the design and execution of community awareness campaigns on child protection risks, PSS, and access to services, with a focus on engaging vulnerable groups like adolescent girls and women. § Conduct gender assessments, safety audits, and consultations with community members to inform program design and risk mitigation strategies. § Strengthen community resilience by promoting the active participation of local protection actors, women’s groups, and youth advocates in Child Protection initiatives. § Coordinate biannual community risk mapping exercises to identify and address child protection risks, ensuring a proactive response to emerging threats. 4. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) § Develop and implement MEAL plans, ensuring that activities are monitored, evaluated, and adjusted based on data-driven insights. § Ensure timely and accurate reporting on program activities, outcomes, and lessons learned, in line with donor requirements. § Conduct regular program reviews and assessments, gathering feedback from beneficiaries to inform program adaptation and improvement. § Maintain up-to-date records in CPIMS+ and ensure confidentiality and data security in case management processes. 5. Partnerships & Coordination § Foster strong partnerships with local NGOs, government agencies, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated Child Protection response. § Represent the organization in relevant protection and child protection cluster meetings, task forces, and coordination forums. § Collaborate with the health, nutrition, and education teams to integrate Child Protection across all sectors, enhancing holistic service delivery. § Engage in advocacy efforts to promote child rights and protection at local and national levels. QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor degree is required in social science or another relevant field

· Well communicate in Pashto, Dari and English

· Demonstrable competence in training , supervision ,monitoring and evaluation

Job Requirements:

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Protection, or a related field

· At least 5 years of experience in managing Child Protection programs, including

case management, PSS, and community mobilization.

· Strong knowledge of CPIMS+ and case management best practices.

· Proven experience in coordinating multi-donor projects (IHA, BPRM, DRA) with

complex stakeholder engagement.

· Knowledge of child rights, child protection and child participation

· Experience in conducting gender assessments, safety audits, and developing risk

mitigation strategies.

· Excellent negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills.

· Skills in report writing.

· Experience in developing materials, undertaking training needs assessment and

training

· Extensive experience as a trainer using participatory methodology.

· Fluent in Pashto/Dari and English.
