About Première Urgence – International Medical Aid (PU-AMI)

PU-AMI (known globally as Première Urgence Internationale, PUI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious international aid organization. PU-AMI’s teams are committed to support vulnerable communities and populations, those marginalized, hit by conflict, natural disaster or economic downturns. PU-AMI’s main objective is to contribute to reduction in morbidity and mortality, and provide emergency relief to those in immediate need in order to help them regain their dignity.

Afghan mission is the oldest of PUI missions, with the first medical intervention launched in 1979 just after the Soviet troops crossed the country’s borders. PU-AMI teams currently deliver the integrated health care, combined with nutrition, psychosocial support; water, sanitation and hygiene (wash), as well as trauma services. The organization implements projects mainly in eastern parts of the country, and increasingly in the South-East Region. Since the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, PU-AMI has also positioned itself as one of the main actors in preparedness and response to the pandemic, implementing health and wash-cantered activities at health facilities and community level in Kabul and beyond.

Globally, PUI provides assistance to around 6 million people in 23 countries and across 5 continents: Africa, Asia, Middle East, Latin America, and Europe.

PUEMI, internationally known as PUI , is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious international aid agency.

PUEMI teams  are committed to supporting and assisting vulnerable communities and populations who have been isolated by conflict, natural disasters and economic recession. The main goal of PUEMI is to help reduce mortality – urgent assistance to restore and restore the dignity of those in urgent need.

 The Afghanistan mission is the oldest PUI mission and began with the first intervention in the health sector in 1979 just after Soviet forces crossed the country’s borders.

PUAMI teams currently provide integrated health care with nutrition, psychosocial support, water, sanitation, hygiene, and trauma services.

 This department mainly implements projects in the eastern part of the country and increasingly in the southeastern regions of the country since the outbreak of Corona in 2020.

PUAMI  has also established its position as the main actor in the preparation and response to the epidemic – the implementation of health and sanitation activities at the level of health centers and the community in Kabul and beyond.

Job Description:

Responsibilities and particular assignments

Aim/Objective: To strengthen the relationship between the clinic and the community. Providing health information to the public through various concepts. And helping in the referral system of community patients to the clinic. Cooperating fully in bringing positive changes in the behavior of the community in the health sector. Identify health concerns and problems in the community                                                                                                    

General Responsibilities CHS has the following responsibilities:

    1. Attending and participating in the monthly briefing day or Debriefing day and also getting information about the absent CHW and addressing their problem before   their MAR report to each HP .
    2. Collecting monthly reports from health workers on Debriefing day and informing clinic officials about CHW activities.
    3. Training the health workers on the monthly debriefing day and giving health information to the health workers.
    4. Assessing all the activities of the health posts continuously and regularly and also organizing the activities of the monthly briefing day or Debriefing day.
    5. Inspecting the equipment and committees of the health posts, understanding and solving their problems, improving health knowledge and work, and giving satisfaction to the health workers.
    6.  Provide training and education to increase the level of knowledge of CHW .
    7. Updating the CHW list , as well as informing the office in case of inactivity or death due to God’s will.
    8. Providing on-the-job training to  CHW
  1. Providing teaching material to CHW  for training . or distribution of IEC materials to each health post. 
  2. Monitoring of all health posts in the clinic environment according to a regular monthly plan.
  3.   Conduct CAAC survey regularly once a year .
  4. Raising the level of their awareness about health issues through discussions with families.
  5. Educating the community about various concepts (health problems).
  6. Establishing and organizing health councils from the community in the health posts. To cooperate with CHW in health activities .
  7. To encourage and motivate community health workers to work properly.
  8. Assisting clinic staff to develop and implement community health program plans within the clinic and clinic coverage area.
  9. Coordinating community health activities in the area covered by the health facility.
  10. Assisting Clinic Order and CHW in creating HMIS reports
  11.  Evaluation of CHW .
  12. Helping the patient through false information in the referral system to the clinic.
  13. People are encouraged to get vaccinated.

Working hours: Saturday to Thursday

Working hours: 8 am to 4 pm

Note: In case of emergency events or the necessity of the program, these hours may be increased or shortened, and the personnel should be ready for them .

Qualification/ Requirements Education and requirements

  • Certified 12th class certificate, 12th pass (Nurse) or have work experience in health field.
  • Have one year of work experience in related profession .
  • Good ability to work in a team.
  • The local resident is being harassed.
  • Must have electronic receipt
