About AKHS-A (Aga Khan Health Service-Afghanistan):
One of the most extensive private, non-profit health care systems in the developing world is Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS), which offers community health initiatives throughout a wide geographic region in East Africa and Central and South Asia.
Part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), the Aga Khan Health Services, Afghanistan (AKHS, A) was founded in 2003. The Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) and Essential Package of Hospital Services (EPHS) offered by the Ministry of Public Health in Afghanistan are among the health care services that AKHS, A primarily delivers on behalf of the government. Offering vital health services across the spectrum of care, from Community Health Workers (CHWs) to hospital facilities with ISO certification, AKHS, A is exceptional in both breadth and size.
AKHS, A has been providing healthcare services in the provinces of Bamyan, Baghlan, and Badakhshan since 2003. Primary and secondary healthcare, preventive and curative medical treatment, nursing and midwifery education, human resources development, and hospital management are all included in the agency’s purview. The present mode of operation and function of AKHS, A in the provinces of Bamyan and Badakhshan as implementers of BPHS and EPHS. In addition to offering vaccination services, nutrition education, community health nurse and community health midwifery training, and technical assistance, AKHS, A also builds the capacity of health workers.
To continue providing supplemental and complementary support to the national health system, AKHS, A used funds from internal and external donors. Additionally, AKHS is a scale-up of AKDN innovations, such as cross-border agreements, e-learning projects, and e-health service extensions. AKHS, A is adopting net zero and greenhouse gas emission to create a healthy environment.
Job Description:

- Mobilize the community and beneficiaries and provide them with awareness regarding the project activities.
- Support the team in planning and organizing community awareness, campaigns, behavior change communication and community mobilization sessions.
- Engage and mobilize community members in one to one and group sessions.
- Develop and implement case management plans, including referrals to relevant services and maintain accurate and confidential case records.
- Work closely with the community elders and CHWs in selecting the target communities.
- Help in finding Early MAM Child in target areas of the project.
- Conduct awareness training and conduct information campaigns on the field according to the communities’ knowledge levels.
- Prepare work plans, schedules, and reports for all activities.
- Coordination with local authorities, community leaders as well as faith leaders.
Any other official related tasks assigned by line manager.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science or economics.
Experience:
- One year of relevant experience of working in the community (Social Mobilizing, Community Mobilizing, Social Organizer, Community Facilitator etc.).
Skills:
- Good communication skills in Dari and proven management ability.
- Ability to travel to the hard-to-reach areas
