Community mobilizer is responsible to ensure that the project interventions are implemented in effective and efficient manner and the project goals and objectives are met. S/he works very closely with the targeted communities and groups to identify and mobilize them in support of the project activities.

 SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: Summary of the bill of duties

The proposed community mobilizer is mainly responsible to support CARE International Mobile Health and Nutrition Teams (MHNTs) field activities in a given/selected area/village (called Service Delivery Point/SDP) regarding;

The main responsibility of the proposed community mobilizer is to cooperate with the mobile health and nutrition teams of the Palmerna Institute in the selected area/village (referred to as the service delivery area) such as:

• • Support MHNT to organize service delivery sessions in target SDPs in terms of clients/patients flow control/screening
  • Cooperation with the mobile health and nutrition team regarding the arrangement of service supply meetings in the target areas such as control and screening of patients/visitors.
  • Conduct health education/community awareness sessions as per MHNT plan and IEC/Health Education materials given by MHNT In-charge/doctor on regular basis for SDP catchment area population and target groups

• Organizing health education and public awareness sessions in a regular manner for the target populations and groups according to the plan of the mobile health and nutrition team and public awareness materials/health education materials given by the team leader/doctor
• Maintain close coordination and effective communication with local community elders, authorities and influential to make sure that local community and target groups are informed regarding MHNT scope or work, available services and visiting schedule.
• Provide close coordination and contact with local influential/officials to ensure that community members and target groups have the necessary information about the services, work areas and distribution of mobile health and nutrition teams .
• Responsible for maintaining proper working environment for MHNT in a given SDP including sharing concerns, suggestion/feedback/complaints from clients/community and convey CARE International response and constructive feedback with concerned entities/individuals.
• Responsible for providing a suitable working environment for the employees of mobile health and nutrition teams in specific areas such as sharing complaints, suggestions/feedback from clients and the community and providing positive/corrective feedback and answers to relevant persons and institutions from the international organization. attention
• Holds the responsibility to facilitate proper place for MHNT staff during field visit/stay in coordination with local community elders and work for possible local resource mobilization.

Responsible for facilitating a suitable place for the employees of the mobile health and nutrition team during the organization of service supply meetings and ensuring coordination with the officials/influentials of the region, including preparing the conditions for the use of available local resources.

Skills and Experience:

• Deep knowledge of the community trainings
• Excellent training and facilitation and community mobilization skills
• Having a deep knowledge of Afghan traditions and cultural norms
• Ability and willingness to work at the communities
• Proper spoken /written Dari and or Pushto
• Previous working experience (at least 2/3 years in the communities mainly involved in health education, awareness, community mobilization and other social works
• Ability to review and monitor activity and record outcomes and learning
• Minimum working knowledge of English language and computer skill will be a plus point.

Education and working experience

Preferably 12^th class graduate or equivalent knowledge level (higher education/bachelor degree in public health, Social Science, Disaster Management, Agriculture or any relevant disciplines is plus point).

Languages Skills:

• Fluency in spoken and written Dari and OR Pashtu is a requirement.
