Job Description:
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Under the direct supervision of the line manager, the Community Mobilizer will facilitate connections and strengthen relationships with communities, community representatives and leaders, relevant sectoral ministry authorities, NGOs, contractors, and other partners at the field level.
Additionally, under the Project Manager’s supervision and technical guidance, the Community Mobilizer will be responsible for field-level monitoring and supervision of project activities. Continuous field presence is required to assess ongoing work, ensure quality implementation, and provide timely feedback to line management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the development and implementation of community mobilization plans/activities;
- Coordinate surveys and beneficiary assessment processes with district authorities and community representatives;
- Conduct surveys and assessments of the targeted communities to verify project beneficiaries;
- Ensure that the most vulnerable and needy households eligible for support are accurately verified as project beneficiaries;
- Collect, compile, and consolidate beneficiary data and produce a complete project beneficiary list;
- Under the supervision of the line manager organize and implement project activities at the field level;
- Represent MHAFG to communities in a dignified way and treat communities with respect and compassion;
- Facilitate and support project-related activities at the community level;
- Monitor the overall process of project implementation to ensure provision of quality services/products to project beneficiaries;
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with communities, community representatives, and relevant district authorities for a smooth flow of project activities at the field level;
- Collect the required information related to different aspects of the project and communicate with the line manager on a regular basis;
- Provide regular feedback and report to the project manager on the project’s progress;
- Mobilize and sensitize communities to support the effective and efficient implementation of the project at the community level;
- Raise community awareness about the objectives of the project;
- Ensure community participation and contribution in the project implementation process;
- Support collection and documentation data required for the development of Case Studies and Success Stories;
- Provided full support to the MEAL department in monitoring project implementation processes and deliverables;
- Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide regular and effective reports to the project manager;
- Ensure the quality implementation of the project in accordance with specifications and the planned timeline.
- Review and revise technical aspects of the pre-designed infrastructure before implementation.
Job Requirements:
JOB REQUIREMENT:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- Proven experience of at least 2 years in community mobilization, project implementation, or fieldwork in a humanitarian, development, or similar context.
- Previous experience in conducting surveys and assessments, and/or beneficiary verification processes is desirable.
- Experience in coordinating with community representatives, district authorities, and local stakeholders.
SKILLS:
- Strong understanding of community dynamics, social structures, and local governance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse community groups, authorities, and project stakeholders.
- Ability to organize and implement project activities at the community level with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Fluency in local languages (e.g., Dari, Pashto) and proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Basic knowledge of monitoring and evaluation tools and techniques.
