New way Social & Development Organization is a development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization established in 2011 and registered with the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan. Organization is based in Kabul, with programming hubs across the north and northeastern provinces of the country. Organization strives to empower the vulnerable and marginalized communities suffering from the impacts of war, natural calamities, poverty, and injustice. Additionally, Organization is also working on the idea of integrated development, which encompasses socio-economic, cultural and good governance. Community Empowerment is the core to Organization’s strategy to engage with grass-root groups and communities to address the root causes of poverty, inequalities and injustice.
Job Description:
- Conduct community assessments to identify the needs, opportunities, challenges and potentials of the target communities.
- Community Mobilizers shall call coordination meetings with CDC and Community Leaders and provide necessary information and brief them on the project’s goal, objectives, activities, outputs and outcomes.
- Community mobilizers shall mobilize the communities to extend their support and assistance for the project’s smooth implementation. This includes organizing community meetings, workshops, trainings and field visits to raise awareness, mobilize resources, disseminate information and facilitate participation of the target communities in the project.
- Community Mobilizers shall address any issues and problems that may arise during the project implementation in close consultation and coordination with the community and CDC members and chairmen.
- Community Mobilizers are required to closely supervise the project’s activities at the field level and report their findings with the MEAL Officer and Project Manager for taking necessary measures.
- Community Mobilizers are required to extend their support to project Officer and other staff in cascading any trainings for Field.
- Community Mobilizers are required to submit their weekly and monthly plans and reports of their activities, or any schedules defined by the project Officer.
- To extend any support and assistance that may be required by any of the project’s staff when and where required.
- To provide full support to the project’s team in providing insights, instructions and guidelines when necessary for improving and enhancing the project’s delivery.
- And other duties assigned by Project Officer.
Job Requirements:
- Best oral and written communication skills in local languages and English if possible
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in social sciences or public administration
- Enjoying 2 years of relevant working experience
- The candidates should be from Parwan province and has currently present in the field.
- Having full knowledge of cultural and religious sensitivities and values
- Compliance and adherence to all the organizational rules and regulations including anti-harassment policy
- Be morally and disciplinary fit for the job.
- Having good knowledge and skills in computer particularly MS Word and MS PowerPoint
- Be able to work under pressure
