Job Description:

Under the overall supervision of the Learning/WBC focal point, the Computer Trainer will be responsible for the following tasks to support the effective delivery of computer training courses in Herat:

  • Develop a detailed and practical training curriculum covering:
    • ICDL modules (Word processing, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Internet, Email, etc.)
    • Basic computer Hardware
  • Conduct training sessions including both theoretical lessons and hands-on computer labs.
  • Adapt training content and delivery methods to suit the participants’ skill levels and local language needs.
  • Conduct seminars on digital literacy.
  • Provide continuous assessment of participants’ progress and offer constructive feedback.
  • Support trainees in troubleshooting computer problems during the course.
  • Prepare and submit training reports, evaluations, and documentation of challenges and achievements.
  • Maintain detailed records of attendance, participation, and progress.
  • Develop a comprehensive training curriculum and instructional materials for ICDL.
  • Successfully conduct training sessions according to the established schedule.
  • Assess participant progress and prepare final evaluation reports.
  • Document student practical exercises and feedback reports.
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Supervisor.
  • Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Monitor, guide, and correct students’ practical computer exercises and projects.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 2–3 years of practical experience teaching computer skills, including ICDL and networking.
  • Strong understanding of ICDL curriculum and computer networking fundamentals.
  • Experience in using and teaching effective adult learning and teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and accessibly.
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Fluency in Dari and working knowledge of English.
  • Sensitivity to working with vulnerable populations, especially women and youth.
