Consultant to prepare the UNCT-wide gender capacity building plan and corresponding training materials, including following deliverables: – Analyse the findings of the gender needs capacity assessment. – Design a capacity development plan and – Prepare training materials that address the identified gaps.

Duties and Responsibilities
The main objective of this consultancy is to develop a gender capacity development plan and corresponding training materials for priority training needs, based on the inter-agency gender capacity assessment that will serve as a baseline for upcoming priorities and actions of the UNCT Gender Theme Group, as per recommendations from the UNCT Gender Parity Strategy and Gender Scorecard-SWAP Assessment. The consultant will be provided with the relevant reading materials to facilitate the task such as: – Global Gender Equality Capacity Assessment Tool. – Adapted survey tool for UNCT Afghanistan. – Data and information collected from UN Agencies as part of the needs assessment survey. – Gender Scorecard-SWAP Assessment. – Gender programming guidance documents (for Basic Human Needs and Humanitarian programming). Gender Theme Group intends to conduct UNCT-wide Gender Capacity Needs Assessment in November 2024. The consultant is expected to: – Conduct a background document review as outlined above. – Review needs assessment survey results and conduct either FGDs or KIIs. – Prepare draft Capacity building plan, based on the survey findings and present it to the Gender Theme Group. – Prepare final Capacity building plan, with inputs from the Gender Theme Group and agreed priority training needs. – Develop training materials on priority training needs, to accompany the capacity building plan. Competencies and special skills requirements: – Ability to review and analyse data and identify perceived knowledge gaps, – Fluency in English with excellent written communication skills, and strong experience in writing gender related reports.
Qualifications/special skills
Master’s degree in human rights, gender/women’s studies, other social sciences or a related field – At least seven years of relevant work experience in the field of gender mainstreaming in development programmes/projects at international levels – Proven experience in conducting gender equality assessments, analysis and related research – Prior experience in developing gender equality-related guidance, strategies and/or plans for international organizations will be a strong asset
Languages
• Excellent proven written and spoken English and presentation skills; • Excellent communication; interpersonal and teamwork skills; • Excellent report writing skills
