Job Description:

Job Purpose:

The cook works in the kitchen and working instead of cleaner when need and cleans rooms, corridors and bathrooms, and compound including floors, carpets, hangings, windows, sinks, tables, cupboards, and other furniture.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for food items and preparing lunch for all staff.
  • Responsible for working in the kitchen and offices instead of cleaning when necessary.
  • Responsible for maintaining the kitchen items properly
  • Responsible to have a proper record of the kitchen supplies
  • To maintain an updated lunch menu for staff
  • To procure food items from market on daily bases
  • Responsible for collecting and washing the dishes
  • Responsible for checking the supplies tea, sugar etc in the office
  • Responsible for preparing tea for staff
  • Arranges refreshment for training.

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, maintain humanitarian principles and respect international humanitarian law.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse:

  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

Compliance & Ethics:

  • Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.

Safeguarding:

  • It is all staff’s shared responsibility and obligation to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work, including adults who may be particularly vulnerable and children. This includes safeguarding from the following conduct by our staff or partners: sexual exploitation and abuse; exploitation, neglect, or abuse of children and adults at risk; and any form of trafficking in persons.

Qualifications:

  • Be able to Read and Write.

Experience:

  • At least One year of experience in cooking with any national and international organization.
  • Should be honest, self-motivated, and disciplined.
  • Should be able to determine the neatness, and accuracy during the work.
  • Females are highly encouraged to apply for this position.

Competency:

  • Good coordination, networking, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Good communication and liaison skills with all staff.
  • Can speak, Dari, Pashto and Uzbeki.
  • Flexibility is requested regarding the working hours and the live-in community after the working hours.
  • Preference will be given to local candidates.
  • Proactive, maintain cleaning.
