The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) has a zero tolerance of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) both within the organization and of beneficiaries. Prevention of and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) is the individual and collective responsibility of all NAC officers, management, staff, consultants, and volunteers, who are all required to familiarize themselves with, agree to, and act in accordance with NAC’s Ethical Guidelines and Commitment, NAC Child Protection Policy, and NAC PSEAH Policy, at all times – both during and outside working hours – and participate actively in introductory and refresher trainings. Any breaches of PSEAH clauses in NAC’s policies, guidelines, and/or commitments will lead to immediate termination and possible legal actions.

Job Description:

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Tasks

Flexibility to work at any required time, including weekends, to provide services for guests and staff when needed.

Distribute meals on time in a proper and organized manner.

Ensure kitchen utensils and the kitchen are always kept clean and hygienic.

Prepare meals in accordance with the set menu.

Take full responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the cook.

Monitor and maintain the inventory of kitchen supplies, ensuring items are replenished in a timely manner.

Manage waste disposal in a hygienic and eco-friendly manner.

Assist with menu planning to ensure dietary preferences and nutritional needs are met.

Support in serving beverages during meetings or office events.

Training Tasks

Assist cooks in training of other staff who support cook and cook assistance in food distribution and kitchen other related services particularly at some events.

Tasks of inter organizational relations

Maintain good cooperation and relations with all units of MWRPO-DI staff for the healthy intake of food at NAC premises

Act according to the policy and regulations of NAC

Must stay in Staff house during weekend and anu other public holiday when required.

To Actively contributes to the successful development and good reputation of the NAC.

To do any other duties assigned by the cook and Admin Officer.

Job Requirements:

Language requirements, if any

Fluency in Pashto and Dari will be an advantage with a basic understanding of English.

Qualifications Required

Must Read and Write, Preferred Completion of grade 12 or equivalent education, preferably in a related field such as culinary arts or professional cooking.

Work Experience

2 years of relevant experience, especially within an NGOs or similar organization

Skills

Basic math skills for meal preparation and calculations

Honest, proactive, and well-mannered.

Ability to communicate hygiene-related matters politely and respectfully with staff.

Strong punctuality and time management skills.
