Job Description:

Objectives (Scope): The cook will make sure The kitchen operates efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and adherence to food safety regulations at all times. Ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and utilized effectively to minimize waste. Meal portions are consistent, well-presented, and meet quality standards.

Tasks (Performance Requirements): The Cook will perform the following activities:

  • The chef must equip the kitchen with all necessary cooking utensils and items.
  • The cook must have all cooking utensils clean and ready.
  • Measuring the amount of raw ingredients for cooking (monthly, weekly and daily)
  • One should always consider the principles of food preparation and use cleaning materials.
  • Preparing lunch for the required number of employees, according to the plan prepared by the administrative officer.
  • Preparing food suitable for important office parties
  • Preparing emergency meals when necessary as directed by superiors
  • Preparing tea for morning and afternoon branches
  • Preparing tea, cakes, and cookies for office meetings and parties
  • Cleaning the kitchen and dining room
  • Having cleanliness, clean clothes, and dishes
  • Washing used dishes and storing them in a clean and appropriate place
  • Preservation and storage of food, fruit, water, etc. in a suitable and clean place (refrigerator, etc.)
  • Collecting kitchen waste and excess items, and transporting them to a suitable location outside the office
  • Keeping important and confidential office matters confidential
  • It is entrusted with performing any duties assigned by the administrative officer and other authorities.

Job Requirements:

Employment conditions

  • Elementary education, ability to read and write
  • Ability to work overtime on holidays
  • At least three years of work experience with institutions

  • Having complete skills in cooking domestic and foreign foods
  • Having skills in hosting official events
  • Having skills in preparing tea in different ways
  • Having skills in preparing meals for guests and staff
  • Special skills and patience for many daily tasks
  • Professional hospitality skills for special guests
  • Ability to work with other office members
  • Ability to take over daily tasks from the administrative officer
  • General respect without discrimination towards men and women
  • Responsible, resourceful, effective, honest, and well-mannered
  •  Neat and clean in appearance

Languages

  • Full proficiency in the country’s official languages, Dari and Pashto.
