Terre des hommes Lausanne (Tdh) is a Swiss child welfare foundation that assists and protects vulnerable populations worldwide. Tdh has been working in Afghanistan since 1995 and carries out projects related to Child Protection, Access to Justice, Mother and Child Health, and Livelihood Programs in Kabul, Herat & Nangarhar provinces.

Job Summary:

Prepare lunch for National staff according to the menu/ an agreed planning and following universal hygiene standards and make sure the offices are clean and tidy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Cooking;

·        Prepare different Afghani food according to the menu for all Tdh staff.

·        To keep the common kitchen clean and tidy

·        Prepare regular tea and make sure the thermoses are full of hot water with clean glass

·        Ensure all the kitchen tools are clean and in a proper place.

·        Keeping the kitchen clean every day

·        Maintain a proper temperature for food in the Kitchen.

·        Wash the dishes, clean the cooker, and any other kitchen equipment

·        Make sure clean dishes are available at all time

·        Responsible for all kitchen stuff being spoiled and disappearing

·        To remain responsible for all Kitchen material/equipment of tdh

·        Ventilate the kitchen Sweep and mop the floors and make sure the hygiene agent is fully followed

·        Empty the waste bins daily and wash them if necessary

·        Go grocery shopping daily and make sure to bring back the receipts for all purchases items and stuff.

·        Perform any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor or line manager

Cleaning;

• • Wash the dishes, clean the cooker, and any other kitchen equipment

• Clean all the tables, chairs, windows and desks
• Clean inside the kitchen cupboards and fridge
• Make sure that clean glasses are available at all time
• Wash the curtains, towels and etc…..
• Make sure that all the office and items are in their proper place.
• Assist colleagues in food distribution whenever there is a workshop, farewell party, or any other event.
• To perform any other related task assigned by the supervisor.

Child safety policy:

The Child Protection Policy will be honoured and implemented throughout Tdh operations, and promoted with its partners;

Commit to inform the Senior Management of any allegations or possibility of transgression, even potential, of the Child Protection Policy according to Tdh’s raising concerns format;

·        Ability of basic writing and reading, high school graduate is preferable.

·        at least 3 years of working experience in a similar position cook/cleaner in a national or international NGO.

·        Be able to suggest new food menus and cook

·        Thoroughness and rigorousness

·        Dynamic, flexible/adaptable

·        Sense of responsibility and care

·        Literacy & counting
