Closing Date: 2025-02-03
Description:
It is required of every NRC employee to operate in line with the organization’s basic principles, which include responsibility, creativity, devotion, and inclusion. These beliefs and attitudes will direct our behavior and interpersonal interactions.
Background:
Sudan has seen a complete breakdown since the battle began in April 2023. Furthermore, it is on the verge of an unparalleled catastrophe, state failure, and fragmentation with no real hope for peace in sight. With over 10.7 million internally displaced people and over 2 million escaping across its borders, Sudan is currently experiencing the biggest displacement crisis in the world. The biggest hunger problem in the world is also in Sudan. Over half of Sudan’s population, or around 25.6 million people, suffer from severe hunger, with over 755,000 of them at risk of famine.
As a result, NRC’s program has expanded and is now among the two biggest in the area. With a $72 million budget, it employs 333 people who are overseen by three Area Offices that conduct business in all of Sudan’s states.
NRC’s Sudan program has established a solid reputation for humanitarian research and advocacy in addition to providing humanitarian assistance and looking for new avenues for increased effect. Over the upcoming years, the program hopes to further enhance these efforts in collaboration with regional and international players.
The organization’s key values—dedication, creativity, inclusion, and accountability—should guide the work of every NRC employee. These beliefs and attitudes will direct our behavior and interpersonal interactions.
