Under the supervision of the Business Intelligence Officer, the Database Associate will manage the processing of accurate and timely data, ensuring data integrity and consistency across the various systems used by UNICEF.

The Database Associate will be responsible for processing accurate and timely data and overseeing PFP operation control dashboards. This ensures that relevant areas can make informed decisions while maintaining the integrity and consistency of the data in UNICEF’s systems.

How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the Business Intelligence Officer, the Database Associate will manage the processing of accurate and timely data, ensuring data integrity and consistency across the various systems used by UNICEF.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks

Supervise and Update Dashboards: Oversee the publication and updating of dashboards, ensuring consistency across all dashboards.
Design and Define Reports: Create and design specific reports and dashboards related to campaign performance and regular operations to support decision-making and investment opportunities.
Ensure Data Quality: Verify the quality of data sourced from various systems, applying database uploading, maintenance criteria, and confidentiality procedures.
Database Auditing and Improvement: Develop periodic reports to audit the integrity of the database, identify inconsistencies, and suggest improvements, focusing on banking response data.
Donor Records Management: Manage the proper export and import of donor records between UNICEF systems and selected suppliers, ensuring clean and consistent data.
Coordinate with Vendors: Work closely with vendor-related areas to ensure data accuracy for vendor payments.
Data Access Management: Administer data delivery and provide access to relevant stakeholders.
Supervision and Automation: Supervise the Database Administrator, prioritizing tasks and planning improvements and automation for manual processes.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with other areas, particularly Finance, and the Retention and Acquisition teams. Coordinate with the CRM Product Owner and Platforms Associate to ensure data quality and collection. Foster effective relationships with fundraising specialists and counterpart leaders to access key data.
This position will support the expansion of the fundraising operation by:
Ensuring efficient data management and information availability through the supervision of the Database Assistant.
Overseeing the information from different systems, ensuring data consistency.
Providing decision-makers with more accurate and detailed market analysis and reports on the Chile Country Office’s fundraising operations, identifying potential threats and opportunities.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

Education: Completion of secondary education. Technical and/or university-level courses in Systems Engineering, Marketing Analysis, or other related fields relevant to the post are an asset but not a requirement.

Work Experience: A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in systems database management, market research, analysis, or related functions. Experience in developing countries and/or familiarity with emergency contexts is considered an asset.
A bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may be considered to compensate for three (3) years of experience in case the candidate lacks the required experience.

A master’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may be considered to compensate for an additional two (2) years (in addition to the three years from above, totaling 5 years).

Technical knowledge: Proficiency in MS SQL and advanced Power BI user. Advanced MS Excel skills (charts, pivot tables, advanced functions, integration with other databases, VBA macros, and automation). Knowledge of SSRS, MS SQL Report Builder, R, SQL Integration Services, and email marketing software (e.g., MailChimp, ConstantContact). Salesforce experience is an asset.

Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Spanish. Excellent communication and writing skills in Spanish.
