It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

Job Summary

The Data Collectors will be supporting Field MEAL unit for conducting baseline assessments, Cash PDM Survey, End-line Assessment, Needs Assessment through the digital data collection via KOBO system. They should have previous experience of collecting digital data with IRW or other NGOs.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

·      The data collectors will receive one full day of training or orientation based on the questionnaires.

·      Have good behaviour and approach with the community especially with children during the assessment.

  • Collect digital data through the KOBO system and measure to minimize error
  • Ensure timely submission of data.

·      Review all the forms and tools used for collecting data and make sure that the data collectors are familiar

  • Visit identified communities and conduct interviews in accordance to the methodology and tools.

·      Share information about the organization, purpose of the assessments, get the consent form signed and talk about the time right holders will spend for providing the information required.

  • Ask questions in a clear and kind manner and ask all the questions exactly as worded and create a friendly environment with community members.
  • Ensure responses are documents or recorded accurately in the system.
  • Conduct FGDs and KIIs in the field with project stakeholders and Beneficiaries.
  • Probe to clarify unclear answers.
  • Double-check and revise the survey at the end of the survey to correct mistakes.

·      Field data collectors will follow sampling instructions provided by the study team

·      Close supervision of the work of the data collectors by program and field MEAL team.

·      Any other task assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements

Qualification:

·      At least graduated from High school and university is preferable

·      Ability to travel to the hard-to-reach areas

·      Ability to work under pressure and flexibility

Experience:

  • 1 year experience as data collector
  • Basic English Knowledge and able to read and write
  • Experience of Kobo data collection
