Job overview :

The Education Assistant will play a fundamental support role in the Education program, ensuring program quality and managing the necessary actions for the comprehensive care of children, adolescents, and caregivers in the state of Zulia. To this end, their ability to coordinate between the organization, educational institutions, intervention communities, and community leaders will be essential. The Assistant will be responsible for implementing adapted pedagogical strategies, monitoring community awareness activities, providing support to children and adolescents in remedial and school reintegration programs, and consolidating administrative requirements and processes through continuous planning of actions aimed at guaranteeing the progress of educational projects.

Main responsibilities .

Under the supervision of the Education Officer, the Education Assistant must demonstrate the ability to respond to:

  • To support the execution of educational activities following the organization’s procedures and tools.
  • Provide technical advice to strengthen methodologies in the characterization, leveling and reintegration of children outside the school system.
  • Participate in the design and adaptation of educational content with playful and didactic strategies based on consultations with the Wayuu and Yukpa indigenous population to apply in the leveling of children.
  • Maintain effective relationships with educational institutions, leaders, and other community entities.
  • Manage referral and service transfer processes, ensuring timely attention.
  • Monitor the program’s databases on a monthly basis, ensuring the recording and analysis of goals, performance indicators, operational progress, and areas for improvement.
  • Support in the preparation of monthly reports and other reports as required by the organization.
  • Continuously update tracking tools such as work plans and quality tools on the digital platform.
  • Apply soft skills to strengthen relationships within and outside the educational team.
  • Identify implementation needs and promptly inform the direct supervisor.
  • Design and lead informational session spaces that connect teachers, caregivers, and schools to the importance of education.
  • Maintain an organized record of beneficiaries served and deliver digital reports of findings.
  • Monitor the leveling plan for compliance with grade indicators of the Basic Education Subsystem.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with areas of the organization to ensure workflow according to established timelines.
  • Participate in liaison, coordination and information exchange activities with the organization.
  • Other tasks, as assigned by the supervisor, according to the needs and priorities of the project to achieve established indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with the Safeguarding policy, child protection policy, and data protection policy.

 

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning :

 

  • Support monitoring and follow-up activities to improve the experience of clients (beneficiaries) and evaluate the results of the project.
  • Ensure that the feedback and complaint management mechanism is effective, managing priority actions regarding the results of these tools.
  • Ensure the functionality of the customer referral or referral process.
  • Consolidate data of interest to the programs necessary for strategic decision-making (children and adolescents out of school, children and adolescents in need of protection, among others).

 

 

Job requirements:

  • Professional in Education, related areas.
  • One year of experience with non-governmental organizations in the implementation of education and/or protection projects.
  • Knowledge of the Venezuelan education system and the safeguarding of early childhood protection.
  • Understanding the key principles of child protection.
  • Demonstrate understanding in working with children and adolescents, and particularly with vulnerable children.
  • Previous experience: 5 years in educational care of children aged 6 to 15 years.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, effective in representation and liaison with external parties.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and prioritize deliverables.
  • Self-management and ability to work with stakeholders.
  • Strong command of pedagogical and digital tools.

 

Work environment:
