Job Description:

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
  • Cook food in various utensils or grillers
  • Check food while cooking to stir or turn
  • Assisting the Cook in food preparation activities, such as cleaning, cutting, chopping and peeling food ingredients
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Cleaning and sanitizing the food preparation areas based on company and industry hygiene codes and health and safety standards Cleaning and sanitizing the food preparation areas based on company and industry hygiene codes and health and safety standards
  • Buying, weighing and storing ingredients and food supplies
  • Make sure that all the kitchen tools are clean and in a proper place.
  • Keeping kitchen clean every day
  • Maintain a proper temperature for food in the Kitchen.
  • Wash the dishes, clean the cooker, and any other kitchen equipment
  • Make sure clean dishes are available at all time
  • Responsible for all kitchen stuff for being spoiled and disappearing
  • To remain responsible for all Kitchen material/equipment of NAC
  • Ventilate the kitchen and Sweep and mop the floors and make sure the hygiene agent Empty the waste bins on daily basis and wash them if necessary
  • Go grocery shopping on daily basis and make sure to bring back the receipts for all purchases items and stuff.
  • Assist the colleagues in food distribution whenever there is a workshop, farewell party or any other event.
  • Perform any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor or line manageress fully followed

Job Requirements:

Languages Required:

  • Dari: (reading, writing, and speaking) will be Preferred
  • Pashto: (reading, writing, and speaking) will be Preferred

Qualifications Required:

  • At least graduation from of Secondary School, 12 class (High school) will be Preferred.
  • Ability of basic writing and reading of Dari and Pashto language will be Preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in the position of Cook preferably with other NGOs/INGOs/International organizations, and with experience from working in a difficult security environment.

Skills Required:

  • Good organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal behaviors
  • Having enough time and flexibility for working in an organization (NAC)
  • Good communication skill of Cooking
  • Ability to travel to other districts like Yawan when need for Cook
  • Willing to travel to the NAC offices and stay overnights
