Job Summary
Purpose of the Post:
To provide a variety of secretarial/administrative work in support of guest house operations and management activities.
Objectives of the Programme and the immediate Strategic Objective (Overview of the programme):
To deliver WHO core functions at country level with a particular focus on the organization’s directing and coordinating role for international health as expressed in the Constitution. In this framework, specific activities include:
· Support to the formulation, implementation and evaluation of national health policies, strategies, and plans;
- Development and management, at the country level, of the organization’s programme of technical cooperation and coordination of the organization’s activities with those of other bodies and with the Government’s National Health Programmes to this end.
Organizational context (Describe the individual role of incumbent within the team, focusing on the intricacy and difficulty of working environment):
Under the direct supervision of Senior Administrative Assistant, and over all guidance of the Operations Officer for WHO Afghanistan.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Overseeing and coordinating the guest house operations, including housekeeping, and maintenance.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating procedures and policies for the operation of the guest house
- Handling guest reservations, check-ins, check-outs, any customer service needs and issuing the invoices.
- Ensuring high standards of hospitality and customer service are always maintained
- Maintaining financial records, including cleaning supplies budgets, and managing expenses.
- Ensuring the guest house complies with health and safety regulations
- Regularly inspecting guest rooms, public areas, and grounds for cleanliness and appearance
- Responding to guest complaints or issues and resolving them in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform any other related duties as may assigned to him/her by the supervisor.

– Knowledge of ERP/Oracle applications is an asset
Educations:
Essential: Completion of secondary education supplemented by secretarial/administrative training.
Desirable: University degree in business administration, social sciences of related field is an asset
Experience:
Essential: At least 3 years of Guest House/Hotel Management or other relevant experience.
Desirable: Relevant experience in the UN system
Languages: Fluency of spoken and written English and local language.
