Job Description:
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- In charge of the smooth running of the NAC Health facilities in Faryab province.
- The main responsibilities of the Program Officer/Clinical Mentor are the following:
- Orients newly hired staff on project activities and contractual requirements
- Ensures all required equipment and consumable material for health facilities are available and that properties, resources, and equipment are properly maintained and in good working order.
- Ensures availability of registers, forms, and other reporting formats in health facilities, and these are properly filled and reported.
- Ensures that required health promotion learning resources are available in health facilities.
- Utilizes the BPHS guideline as a reference for performance and quality improvement.
- Makes sure that personnel files for all staff and clinical records of patients are maintained in related health facilities.
- Ensures that a quality Comprehensive continuum of care is provided to communities as per MoPH regulations and NAC guidelines.
- Conducts regular supervisory visits to 4C and provides constructive feedback to further improve the quality of services and meet the targets.
- Represents NAC in conferences, workshops, and seminars related to Mother and Child Health and HMIS at the provincial level.
- Participates in coordination meetings at PPHD to ensure good coordination and implementation of activities.
- Check the quality of submitted monthly reports from 4C and share them with HMIS department of Badakhshan PPHD
- Ensures a clean, safe, and secure working environment in health facilities.
- Identifies training needs of staff and facilities and supports their professional development.
- Successful completion of mentorship training
- Conduct mentorship visits and provide technical support to 4C MWs regularly.
- Conduct baseline assessment to address the gaps in mentees’ performance.
- Develop a mentor daily action plan to address the gaps in mentees’ performance.
- Coordination with mentee and NAC mentorship focal point to set the daily target for each learning session.
- Communication with Health Shura to make an enabling environment for mentees.
- Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback for mentees based on the daily action plan.
- Conduct the end-line assessment to measure the progress in improving the midwives’ performance.
- Support mentees to develop a follow-up action plan for two-week intervals between each mentorship visit.
- Develop a progress report after completion of each mentorship visit which should include initial and second assessment results as well.
- Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.
