The operative unit for disaster assistance, development cooperation, and humanitarian help, Johanniter International Assistance carries out and supports mostly health programs around the globe.

Since October 2002, Johanniter has been working in Afghanistan, offering emergency assistance, medical treatment, health facility restoration, and training in disaster preparedness and first aid for community health workers, students, teachers, and professionals from NGOs and government organizations. With operating coverage in the North, Northeast, and Central regions of Afghanistan, as well as the potential to expand into the South and Western provinces, Johanniter’s country headquarters is situated in Kabul.

Job Description:

    1. Providing leadership to effectively implementation in the project coverage area.
    2. Build understanding of Project staff and community on the on project goal and objectives & JUH mission.
    3. Identifying capacity building requirements of project beneficiaries for their capacity development.
    4. Implementing the project in compliance with agreed standards and practices.
    5. Conduct participatory learning process to assess challenges, opportunities and risks of project implementation.

    1. Promote open and democratic processes of decision making and also to inform line manager on the status of program (Health Program Manager).
    2. Prepare the project report based on the result and or donor designed result oriented framework and quality control guidelines for assessing effectiveness of the Project.
    3. Effectively mobilize communities and ensure awareness building as per project requirement.
    4. Provide leadership and supervise the work of the community foreman to implement project activities effectively at the project base, in accordance with agreed work plans, targets and project budgets.
    5. Facilitate processes of community mobilization and participation to develop ownership of project activities and goals.
    6. Facilitate formation of community structures or networks, particularly of women, through consultation and participation of community members.
    7. Identify potential leaders and support their development in collaboration with the Project represent.
    8. Prepare weekly work plans based on agreed monthly plans and budgets, and in consultation with communities, and report on progress against these plans.
    9. Participate in baseline surveys or other project-related data collection exercises in collaboration with the Project represent.

  1. Systematically capture and document lessons from the field for shared learning and identify case studies to highlight successes of the project.
  2. In consultation with the Project represent the project in meetings with government and other development actors at the project level.
  3. Ensure compliance with CDC/Shura requirements at the project coverage area for effective implementation of the project.

Job Requirements:

Education:

MD Degree from a recognized medical University.

Experience:

Minimum three to four years of work experience at a similar position.

Language Professions:

Proficiency in English and Dari or Pashto is required
