During staff parental leave, provide temporary donor reporting capabilities and offer technical assistance with resource mobilization.

Purpose of Activity/Assignment:

Provide interim capacity for donor reporting during staff parental leave, provide technical support in resource mobilization

Scope of Work:

Donor Relations and Reporting

  • Proactively leads in the maintenance of the external (VISION) and internal (Excel) donor reporting trackers to ensure that all reports are captured for coordinated and timely delivery to donors.
  • Leads the coordination, compilation and editing of UNICEF donor reports. Ensures adherence to criteria set out in Executive Directives/Guidelines, donor contract stipulations and ESARO quality assurance standards.
  • Prepare cover letters and supporting documentation to accompany official report submissions, reprogramming and extension requests to donors.
  • Lead the development of internal and external briefing documents.

Resource Mobilization

  • Resource Mobilization Strategy and Action Plan support including the diversification of partners through donor mapping (public and private sector).
  • Identification of new potential high-value funding partners.
  • Creation of concise donor friendly CPD 2-4 pager
  • Creation of donor friendly CPD Powerpoint (PPT)
  • Support in the preparation of funding proposals and concept notes

Work Assignment Overview

Tasks/Milestone: Deliverables/Outputs:
Donor Reporting Proactively leads in the maintenance of the external and internal donor reporting trackers to ensure that all reports are captured for well-coordinated and timely delivery to donors.

Leads the coordination, compilation and quality assurance of UNICEF donor reports. Ensures adherence to criteria set out in Executive Directives/Guidelines, donor contract stipulations and ESARO quality assurance standards.

Prepares cover letters and supporting documentation as needed to accompany official report submissions, reprogramming and extension requests to donors.

Donor Relations Support Lead the development of internal and external briefing documents.

Support with the coordination of inputs for key donor deliverables such as grant mid-term and annual reviews, donor meeting coordination, presentations, and other ad hoc requests.

Support as donor stewardship lead for selected donor partners.

Resource Mobilization Resource Mobilization Strategy and Action Plan support including the diversification of partners through donor mapping (public and private sector).

Identification of new potential high-value funding partners.

Creation of concise donor friendly CPD 2-4 pager

Creation of donor friendly CPD Powerpoint (PPT)

Support in the preparation of funding proposals and concept notes

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in International relations, political science, communications, international development, or another relevant technical field.
  • A minimum of 5 [Five] years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: communications, contribution management, resource mobilization, external relations, or other relevant area.
  • Previous UNICEF donor reporting experience is desired.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
