Malteser International (MI) is the international humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. MI has been registered in Türkiye since 2014 and has since built up its own office structure. MI now has two offices in southeastern Türkiye (Kilis and Gaziantep). The Malteser InternationaI team provides technical guidance and oversees management and administration of the partner-implemented projects in Türkiye and Northern Syria. MI is responsible for the procurement of the main medical supplies in Türkiye, the reporting and application as well as the quality assurance. In addition to the implementation of humanitarian and transitional aid projects, Malteser International´s strategic objective is the strengthening of the civil society structures in Türkiye and Syria. Malteser International focuses in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye on the sectors of health, livelihood, protection as well as social cohesion.

For its work in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye, Malteser International is looking for a Human Resources Assistant – National Position.

As you will be part of the Human Resources Department, you will support the HR Manager in all HR activities for Malteser International’s projects in North-western Syria and Türkiye.

Your responsibilities:
Provide support in full employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding
Ensure accurate and up-to-date personnel records and documentation, including contracts, leave records, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
Support the HR Manager in payroll administration, benefits administration, and compliance with statutory requirements
Assist the HR Manager in fostering positive employee relations by promoting open communication, inclusivity, and a culture of respect and collaboration
Provide support for organizational activities, training and workshops
Maintain confidentiality and data protection protocols in HR-related documentation and reporting
Your profile:
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as human resources, business administration
Fluent in English both in written and spoken skills. In addition, Arabic and/or Turkish is advantage
At least 1 year of experience in Human Resources, preferably in an (i)NGO
Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and detail orientation
Creative and eager to learn
Excellent interpersonal skills
