How can you make a difference?
UNICEF offers the opportunity for interns, talented university students, to gain valuable professional experience while being exposed to UNICEF’s work. At the same time, UNICEF benefits from working with interns as they are a significant asset, providing updated academic knowledge, technical know-how and other valuable skills to the organization.
The ICT Intern will support the UNICEF Istanbul Office by providing technical assistance in maintaining ICT assets, responding to user queries, and helping manage network systems. The intern will work closely with the Senior ICT Associate, assisting in troubleshooting technical issues, identifying problems with digital tools (such as Microsoft 365) and platforms, monitoring ICT inventory, and helping ensure the smooth operation of ICT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
User Support:
Assist in providing first-level support for issues related to computers, printers, phones, and other IT equipment.
Help troubleshoot common ICT problems and escalate issues when necessary.
Support in configuring and setting up new hardware or software for users.
Assist in the use of office productivity tools like Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook.
Event and Meeting Setup:
Provide technical support for virtual meetings or events, ensuring proper setup of video conferencing equipment in coordination with Sr. ICT Associate.
Help with the preparation and setup of ICT tools needed for presentations or training sessions.
ICT Asset Management:
Assist in maintaining accurate records of ICT assets, including laptops, desktops, printers, and other office equipment.
Help with the preparation and distribution of ICT equipment to new staff, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
Support inventory checks and help keep the ICT asset system up to date.
Deliverables:
Timely and efficient support for staff with ICT-related issues.
Maintaining meeting rooms and workstations.
Accurate and up-to-date records of ICT assets.
Regular updates to the UNICEF ICT SharePoint site with relevant information.
A secure and well-maintained digital environment for staff.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or Ph.D. degree programme or have graduated within the past two years – Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
To be fluent in English, with strong writing skills. Additionally, fluency in another official and working language of the UN would be an asset.
To have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.

Stipend: In accordance to UNICEF’s guidelines, interns will be paid a nominal stipend per month. There is no expectancy of employment at the end of the internship.
Insurance:
UNICEF will not be responsible for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the intern’s service, whether on or off UNICEF premises. Therefore, the selected candidate must provide proof of enrolment in a health/accident plan prior to start his/her work. If accepted, the intern will be required to provide a copy of health insurance coverage and to fill out the relevant UNICEF forms on conditions regarding service as an intern.
