About ACAPS

Who we are:

ACAPS is a separate supplier of analysis. As an impartial analytical voice, we assist donors, influencers, fundraisers, and humanitarian workers in making more informed decisions and enhancing their ability to respond to emergencies.

What we do:

We advocate for a more evidence-based response to disasters and provide timely and impartial needs assessments, data, training, and methodological tools in an effort to reshape the humanitarian narrative.

We work honestly and creatively: ACAPS fosters the implementation of a collaborative strategy and maximizes synergies with academic institutions, the commercial sector, civil society, specialized analytical organizations, and humanitarian responders.

There is a growing need in the humanitarian sector for independent, high-quality analysis to inform programmatic responses and resource prioritization as the requirements for aid continue to rise sharply. By offering independent, multi-sectoral analysis to help humanitarian stakeholders better understand and address the needs of crisis-affected populations worldwide, ACAPS is uniquely positioned in the humanitarian architecture to respond to these challenges and serve as a global public good to the humanitarian sector.

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is the project’s host, and a consortium comprising the NRC, Save the Children, and Mercy Corps oversees the operation. With a rapidly growing decentralized worldwide workforce, ACAPS is presently at an exciting point in its growth trajectory. With team members operating in several of these nations, ACAPS analyzes crises in Afghanistan, Colombia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Ukraine, and Yemen as a result of a greater understanding of the value the organization brings to the humanitarian sector. This is on top of many international teams that offer analysis on more than 150 nations and 100 ongoing problems globally.

CisisInSight:

The CrisisInSight team supports the humanitarian community by providing up-to-date information on more than 100 key crises around the globe. This enables crisis responders to better understand and thereby better address the needs of the affected population, and at the same time strengthening the assessment ecosystem.

Purpose of the position

Contribute to ACAPS’ timely analysis of humanitarian crises, thus enabling crisis responders to make better informed decisions. This is a position for people interested in a career in the humanitarian sector and who are specifically interested in qualitative and quantitative analysis, humanitarian planning, and in promoting evidence-based decision making. The information analyst will develop valuable knowledge in analysis techniques, including secondary data review, joint analysis, and data management.

The Information Analyst in this role will be focusing on analysis and reporting for the south Asian countries.

Operate in line with the ACAPS values

We share and strive to maintain the values of agency, candour, integrity, diversity, evolution, ambition, and collaboration in everything we do. The post holder is expected to develop the position in line with these values. The ACAPS values live in the way we manage our teams, create our content and engage with stakeholders.

NRC, as the contracting body, is an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to diversity without distinction to age, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, and physical ability.
