Job Summary
The Livelihoods Officer work under the direct supervision of the Regional Area Manager in Southeast region. Advice and support will also be provided by the UNDP Country office.
Duties & Responsibilities
The position will report to Livelihood Associate and the key job roles and responsibilities will includes the followings:
• Finalize the Assessment of the current interventions (JSB and STFA)
• Support and guide the vendors to the small Business in the region where the various solar under JSB should be delivered
• Support the distribution of the TVET equipment in the region.
• Monitor program implementation of partners (contractors, consultants, grantees) in accordance with agreements, work-plans, deliverables, and timelines.
• Ensure timely and quality progress by partners and contractors and provide feedback to Livelihood Associate
• Support to develop specific livelihoods activities for women and ensure integration of gender issues and concerns in livelihoods programming.
• Support on Assessment for LVG for Small Grants
• Collect information related to livelihood work and provide inputs for the preparation of substantive briefs.
• Identify and document best practices and lessons learned from livelihood interventions.
• Assis in producing publicity materials on livelihood work including success and lessons.
Payment: Monthly bases
Travel Cost and DSA: Salary is inclusive of travel cost and DSA.
Duration of the assignment: April -June 2024

Job Requirements
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in natural resource management, agricultural development, socio-economic, environmental sciences, disaster management, development studies, and/or related fields.
Experience and Skills:
• 3 years of experience with master’s degree or 7 years of experience with bachelor’s
• Proven experience in conducting assessment and analysis of Livelihoods related activities.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of sub-national institutional contexts of Afghanistan.
Functional Competencies:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent English written communication skills, with analytic capacity and ability to synthesize project outputs and relevant findings for the preparation of quality project reports.
• Ability to understand new terminology and concepts easily and to synthesize information from different sources into a coherent project document.
• Skill in negotiating effectively in sensitive situations.
• Skill in achieving results through persuading, influencing, and working with others.
• Skill in facilitating meetings effectively and efficiently and to resolve conflicts as they arise.
• Maturity and confidence in dealing with senior and high-ranking members of international, regional, and national institutions.
• Displays sensitivity and adaptability to different cultures, genders, religions, races, nationalities, and age groups.
• Good oral communication skills and conflict resolution competency to manage inter-group dynamics and mediate conflicting interests of varied actors.
• Good team player, self-starter, has ability to work under minimum supervision and maintain good relationships.
Language Requirements:
Proficiency in written and spoken English and fluency in the national languages (Dari / Pashto).
