WFP Sudan has the potential to reach millions of food insecure people across Sudan – with a total of 4 million people assisted in 2018. WFP Sudan, one of the largest and complex operations for WFP globally, is currently rolling out its five-year Country Strategic Plan (2019-2023), which aims to provide emergency assistance through a hybrid approach (Cash, food and vouchers), along with life-changing types of programmes (Nutrition, Resilience and School Feeding).
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The Logistics Cluster Sudan is supporting partners operating in the Country with logistics coordination, information management, and commong logistics services. This position will over see the Cluster’s logistics activities (transport and storage), ensuring seamless provision to the partners.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Establish and maintain strong linkages with all stakeholders to gather key logistics information essential for sharing with partners for informed decision-making.
Provide specialized support to LC operations and activities, adhering to standard processes.
Assist with transportation on behalf of partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of logistics cluster partner’s cargo.
Always present in a positive and professional manner when serving users.
Record and maintain all relevant records concerning cargo dispatches.
Assist in coordinating interagency convoys to hard-to-reach destinations.
Work closely with UNOCHA, CMCoord Cell and partners to effectively coordinate the inter-agency convoys to the hard to reach locatoins.

8. Identify, resolve, and/or provide recommendations for specialized queries/requests for support, utilizing initiative and following standard processes to ensure timely and accurate resolution with an excellent client service mindset.
9. Miantain record of all financial expenditures incurred by the Logistics Cluster
10. Support partners in effectively dealing with complaints, feedback, and recommendations.
11. Report all issues to the supervisor along with recommendations for process improvemen t.
12. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Sound Knowledge use of Office, Excel and Data Analytics Tools.
Highly numerate with an innate ability to analyze & interpret data quickly & recommend improvements.
Problem-solving skills.
Education: Completion of secondary school education.
Experience: A minimum of six years of work experience, preferably in fields such as Logistics or Supply Chain.
Languages: Fluent in oral and written English and Arabic.
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
These jobs are found in Headquarters (HQ), Regional Bureaux (RB) and Country Offices (CO and Area/Field Offices. Job holders report to a Logistics Officer, Head of Unit or the designate.
At this level, job holders demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to queries with only general guidance for all assistance modalities for both WFP and logistics common services. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen problems on a daily basis. Job holders typically manage a small team, supervising and coaching staff.
