Job Description:

  • The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting. The individual will ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Regular inspections of the facility will be a core responsibility. The Maintenance Assistant will identify issues that require attention and report them to the admin manager. This proactive approach helps maintain the integrity of the building and prevent larger issues from arising.
  • The Maintenance Assistant will be tasked with maintaining and servicing various office equipment and machinery. This includes routine checks, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure all equipment is functional and safe for use.
  • Adhering to safety protocols is paramount. The Maintenance Assistant will ensure that all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations. This includes the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling hazardous materials safely.
  • The Maintenance Assistant will assist in managing inventory for maintenance supplies and equipment. This involves tracking usage, reordering supplies when necessary, and ensuring that all tools and materials are organized and accessible.
  • The Maintenance Assistant will support larger maintenance projects, such as renovations or upgrades to facilities. This may include assisting contractors, preparing work areas, and ensuring that projects are completed to specifications.
  • Accurate record-keeping is crucial for tracking maintenance activities. The Maintenance Assistant will maintain logs of completed work, materials used, and any incidents that occur on-site. This documentation will assist in future planning and audits.
  • In the event of an emergency, the Maintenance Assistant will be expected to respond quickly and effectively. This includes addressing urgent maintenance issues and assisting with evacuation procedures if necessary.
  • The Maintenance Assistant will participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in maintenance practices. A commitment to continuous improvement will help the individual stay informed about industry best practices.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical training or certifications in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in maintenance or facilities management is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills
