Malteser International (MI) is the international humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. For over 60 years we provide relief and recovery for people during and following conflicts and disasters around the world. MI has been registered in Türkiye since 2014 and has since built up its own office structure. MI now has two offices in southeastern Türkiye (Kilis and Gaziantep). The Malteser InternationaI team provides technical guidance and oversees management and administration of the partner-implemented projects in Türkiye and Northern Syria. MI is responsible for the procurement of the main medical supplies in Türkiye, the reporting and application as well as the quality assurance. In addition to the implementation of humanitarian and transitional aid projects, Malteser International´s strategic objective is the strengthening of the civil society structures in Türkiye and Syria. Malteser International focuses in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye on the sectors of health, livelihood, protection as well as social cohesion.
For its work in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye, Malteser International is looking for a MEAL Assistant – National Position.
MI’s MEAL Assistant will support project monitoring and evaluation in Türkiye and Syria by collaborating with partners, participating in community engagement and knowledge-sharing sessions, reviewing reports, and implementing corrective measures.
Your responsibilities:
Support the MEAL department in designing and implementing the monitoring and evaluation plan in collaboration with MI’s partners
Participate in community engagement sessions and field quality evaluations
Ensure partners adhere to MI standards for indicator measurement, monitoring methodologies, and best practices
Collaborate with partners to improve monitoring approaches
Organize knowledge-sharing sessions within the organization and with partners
Assist in reviewing and analysing bi-monthly project monitoring reports
Participate in regular meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and learning opportunities
Your profile:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Development Studies)
2 Years previous experience or internship in a related field is essential
Basic understanding of monitoring and evaluation concepts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities
Fluency in English with excellent written communication skills, Arabic or Turkish is an advantage
