Malteser International (MI) is the international humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. For over 60 years we provide relief and recovery for people during and following conflicts and disasters around the world. MI has been registered in Türkiye since 2014 and has since built up its own office structure. MI now has two offices in southeastern Türkiye (Kilis and Gaziantep). The Malteser InternationaI team provides technical guidance and oversees management and administration of the partner-implemented projects in Türkiye and Northern Syria. MI is responsible for the procurement of the main medical supplies in Türkiye, the reporting and application as well as the quality assurance. In addition to the implementation of humanitarian and transitional aid projects, Malteser International´s strategic objective is the strengthening of the civil society structures in Türkiye and Syria. Malteser International focuses in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye on the sectors of health, livelihood, protection as well as social cohesion.
For its work in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye, Malteser International is looking for a motivated MEAL Officer – National Position.
As MEAL Officer, you’ll support project success by designing monitoring plans aligned with goals and collaborating with partners to strengthen accountability and best practices. You’ll optimize data quality, conduct assessments, and contribute to reports, fostering a learning environment that ultimately improves project impact.
Your responsibilities:
Collaborate with partners to design and implement a monitoring plan aligned with project goals.
Provide technical support to partners on monitoring and evaluation best practices.
Regularly assess partner accountability and offer guidance for improvement.
Address monitoring challenges with partners and update the learning system.
Review partner reports, contribute to project reports, and ensure quality data collection.
Evaluate partner performance against set criteria.
Manage project M&E plans and ensure proper storage of project documents.
Your profile:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, public health etc.)
4 years Proven experience in designing and implementing MEAL systems in humanitarian or development projects.
Working experience in health projects is an advantage.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Fluency in English with excellent written communication skills, Arabic or Turkish is an advantage.
