Job Summary
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the finalizing of the Electrical and mechanical components of solar powered water projects. He will work closely with the design and estimation engineers for the finalization of the electrical and mechanical components of the projects to make sure that the required quantity of water will be delivered as per the design. Also, make sure that the procedures and manuals are followed as per standards. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Design and Estimation Engineer, he/she will have the following responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
– Lead the activities on finalizing the electrical and mechanical components of the solar powered water projects and review the estimate and specification of the same.
– Make sure that the regional engineers are well trained in the installation of the mechanical and electrical components of the projects.
– Assist Senior design and estimation engineer in preparation of design package of electrical and mechanical components aligning with the design package of survey and design documents for final approval and implementation.
– Make sure that the operators from the community are well trained to efficiently operate the electrical and mechanical components of the project’s beforehand overing.
– Reviewing and approving the electrical and mechanical components submitted from the contractors.
– Make sure the proper implementation of technical specification of the electrical and mechanical components of the solar powered water projects.
– To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects AKF (Afg)’s commitment to safeguarding staff, beneficiaries and protecting children from harm and abuse in accordance with AKF (Afg)s Safeguarding policy.
– To report any suspicions or actual violations of the Safeguarding Policy and/or Child Safeguarding Policy as per the given training.
OCCASIONAL SIGNIFICANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
– Frequent site visits to ensure the proper installation of the electrical and mechanical components.
– May require attending the meeting held by PIU on various occasions.
DECISION-MAKING & AUTHORITY
– Finalizing and approving the electrical and mechanical components of the solar powered water projects.
Job Requirements
JOB SPECIFICATION
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
– Proven experience of at least 2 years in solar powered water projects and supervision of the same. Good knowledge on survey and design and estimation of Solar powered lightening, solar powered irrigation, MHP will be preferred.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and team members.
– Familiarity with rural development standards, procedures, and regulations.
– Good in English, and fluent in local languages.
– Excellent technical survey and engineering design review, analyses, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES
– Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
– Excellent stakeholder management skills and profession.
– Very good knowledge and experience in conflict resolution and problem solving in community driven development contexts.
– Familiarity with communities, CDCs, DDAs and CSO will be preferred.
