NGO-Business Development Associate/USA/2023 Job Duties

  • collaborates closely with proposal managers on many duties necessary to produce a high-quality proposal, such as copy editing, creating text boxes, and occasionally creating annexes using previously generated information.
  • examines proposed proposals and compares them to specifications given out by public funders (with a focus on USAID and FCDO). Communicate with coworkers to ensure compliance when needed.
  • examines drafts and calls for proposals and start-up presentations that highlight the main points of the call for participation from diverse audiences.
  • Supports occasionally other IRC funders including ECHO, SIDA, the World Bank, and others. Short-term research, the filing of a proposal, or a quality evaluation are all examples of support.
  • contributes to and serves as an example of how to use common business development tools, procedures, and information.
  • keeps track of forthcoming financing possibilities, summarizing the essential details in prepared templates, and sharing them with pertinent coworkers.
  • provides assistance with data input into important databases, ensuring that entries are current and at the proper process stage.

Required Qualifications of NGO-Business Development Associate/USA/2023

Education:

with one to three years of professional job experience, a bachelor’s degree in a suitable discipline, such as political science, public administration, or communications

shown zeal for research, writing, and coordination as well as an interest in international development. Lived experience in the nations where IRC has offices, academic experience, volunteer work overseas, and internships are all highly appreciated forms of experience.

strong reading and writing analytical skills.

Experience:

Experience overseeing the whole project lifecycle with several stakeholders, including keeping track of deliverables, communicating often, and displaying excellent knowledge management and organization.

experience utilizing Salesforce, Excel, or other tools to enter data and manage huge datasets.

Languages:

English fluency and knowledge of one additional language, such as French, Spanish, German, or Arabic, are highly preferred.

Main Purpose of the Job

The Business Development Associate will work with a creative team that manages new business writing for IRC, from opportunity tracking and planning to proposal development and submission. The BDA will assist some of IRC’s largest and most complicated business development opportunities while working as a crucial member of the BD Specialist Team.

This assistance involves things like writing proposal annexes, designing really eye-catching proposal images, text editing, and making presentations that highlight funding prospects. In order to make sure that IRC’s BD teams and internal partners (Technical Units, Country, and Regional Teams) are aware of public financing opportunities and have visibility over the opportunity pipeline, the BDA will play an essential coordinating role.
