About NGO-Deputy Director of Programs
All direct service programs in the Abilene, Texas office must be supervised and carried out by the Deputy Director. The current programming prioritizes efforts related to immigration and the law, economic empowerment, safety and wellness, and education. The Deputy Director will also assist with a wide range of administrative and office management duties. In order to build awareness, inspire support, and boost the visibility of IRC’s work and client needs in the Abilene and Midland/Odessa areas, this person will represent IRC and routinely communicate with external audiences.

In the Abilene, Texas office, all direct assistance programs must be supervised and carried out by the Deputy Director. The current programming prioritizes immigration/legal activities, economic development, education, safety and well-being, and refugee resettlement. A wide range of office management and administrative duties will also be supported by the Deputy Director. To build awareness, inspire support, and boost the visibility of IRC’s work and client needs in the Abilene and Midland/Odessa areas, this person will represent IRC and communicate often with external audiences.
Required Qualifications of NGO-Deputy Director of Programs
Education:
A bachelor’s degree is necessary, but a graduate degree in business, nonprofit management, public administration, or an area closely connected to human services is desirable.
Experience:
- Experience in successfully implementing refugee resettlement, immigrant services, human trafficking programs, and/or similar programming serving vulnerable populations.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of professional work experience with progressive levels of responsibility, including supervisory and program management experience.
Skills
- strong background in strategic planning, program and budget management, and carrying out monitoring and evaluation activities to guarantee program quality.
- a track record of success in fostering an organizational culture that embodies the key principles of service, accountability, integrity, and equality of IRC. the capacity to lead in a way that acknowledges that IRC’s work is best completed via genuine cooperation of people from diverse cultures with a wide range of talents and viewpoints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities; fluency in English is necessary.
