About Organization
Free to Run is a nonprofit organization that uses running, physical fitness, and outdoor adventure as a means of empowering and educating females in conflict areas. Their mission is to drive change in community gender norms by supporting adolescent girls and young women to advance their rights. Co-founder Brett Bogan’s vision is for a world where slavery ceases to exist, with freedom and basic human rights for all men, women, and children. About NGO-Duhok Program Officer
The Program Officer, who works closely with the Senior Program Officer and reports to them, executes and oversees Free to Run initiatives in Duhok. The role is only available part-time.
Duhok is where the Program Officer role is located. Depending on the needs of the program, occasionally coordination trips within KRI may be required.
Program Officers often work 20 hours a week in a part-time capacity. Because of the nature of the company’s operations, hours may vary outside of the typical core hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with the possibility of occasional nights or weekends, depending on the demands of the company.
Required Qualifications NGO-Duhok Program Officer
Experience:
- 2 years of professional experience in community development and program implementation in relevant fields (NGOs, business for social good, activism, community organizing)
- Experience in leading a team, group, or project.
- Good Knowledge and experience regarding gender mainstreaming
- Experience with non-profit organizations and government ministries
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, International Development, or another relevant field of study preferred
Languages:
Proficiency in written and spoken command of English and Arabic is required and Knowledge of Kurdish is preferred.
Skills
