About NGO-Finance Manager/USA/2023

The Finance Manager collects and processes financial data in order to deliver management, donors, grantors, creditors, and other parties timely, accurate, and understandable information. He or she also carefully controls and manages the implementation of accounting systems for IRC’s Salt Lake City and Missoula locations. It is in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the person in charge of it is the Deputy Director, Finance & Operations. The Administration, Finance & Operations team of the office as well as the Salt Lake City managerial team include this role. Depending on staffing, the role manages a group of 3–4 finance coordinators/specialists, one of whom works out of Missoula, Montana.

NGO-Finance Manager/USA/2023 Responsibaltaies

  • Maintain accurate records of your spending and income, and give leadership advice with the aim of ensuring that the office’s annual revenue exceeds its costs.
  • Develop all budget proposals for grants in collaboration with the executive director and the development team, and as necessary, suggest budget changes throughout the year.
  • As stated in the IRC finance handbook and generally accepted accounting standards, ensure office compliance with IRC’s accounting regulations with regard to fund accounting.
  • Examine accounting transactions to confirm accurate coding, then record transactions using the accounting software provided by IRC.
  • Create journal entries to enter HQ transactions into the accounting software used by the regional office.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and send them on time to IRC NY.
  • Investigate and settle discrepancies in collaboration with the Regional Controller while monthly reconciling the databases of regional offices and HQ.
  • As appropriate, assist with internal and external audits.
  • As required by contracts, prepare and organize the submission of financial reports to various sources.

NGO-Finance Manager/USA/2023 Requirments

Education:

  • a minimum of an associate’s degree in a comparable subject, such as business administration, accounting, or finance.

Experience:

  • Experience in financial management, planning, and accounting procedures of at least 5 years, particularly in a grant-driven, non-profit setting, is necessary.
  • PowerBI and Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience are plusses.

Languages:

  • spoken and written English with ease.
