Job Description:
Objectives
This program is designed to address crucial aspects of nutrition through effective communication strategies, recognizing the significant role that behavior changes play in promoting healthy dietary practices. The Nutrition SBCC initiative seeks to empower individuals and communities with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed choices for improved nutrition and overall well-being.
N-SBCC is dedicated to enhancing nutrition and well-being at the household level. Through our Nutrition Social Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) sessions, we aim to empower farmers and individuals engaged in kitchen gardening with the knowledge and skills to cultivate and consume nutritious crops, thereby promoting healthier dietary practices.
The objective is to enhance community awareness and knowledge of nutrition, promoting the cultivation and consumption of nutrient-rich crops and fostering healthier dietary practices through the Nutrition Social Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) sessions and workshops.

Responsibilities
- Interactive Workshops and Community sessions:
- Conduct engaging workshops/community sessions through community gatherings to discuss the above mentioned topics and contents.
- Host regular community meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and success stories related to nutrition and kitchen gardening.
- Utilize storytelling and role-playing activities to convey the importance of dietary diversity and healthy habits.
- Q&A and Individual Consultations:
- Providing opportunities for community members to ask health-related questions.
- Offering consultations for specific health concerns or dietary advice.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Establish a feedback mechanism to assess the impact of the SBCC sessions and gather insights for continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
Education:
In a relevant field such as Public Health, Nutrition, Community health, or a related discipline.
Experience:
1+ years of proven relevant experience.
Language:
- English is an asset
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to conduct training sessions for diverse audiences, including community influencers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to engage effectively with community members
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office
Trips:
The target districts are Qarqin, Khamab, Qushtepa, and Darzab districts of Jawzjan province. The candidate must be able to travel once a week to one district for 3 days to conduct the N-SBCC workshops and trainings.
The candidate must cover one district per week, all 4 target districts each month. The candidate must stay 2 to 3 days in each district.
