Job Summary
The main purpose of this job is to make sure the offices and office environment are clean, quality cleaning services are provided, and employees are satisfied with the services that they are receiving during official working hours in UNDP Country Office.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide overall cleaning services to UNDP Country Office
• Clean the offices and common areas on daily basis and as per defined schedule by the office
• Keep clean the offices, kitchen, corridors, toilets, and workshop venue and the office environment at all the times;
• Vacuum, Dust & Mop the floors/surfaces
• Clean & Dust the Desk, Chair, Sofa, Wardrobe, and Other furniture
• Clean the Windows, Mirrors, Doors, etc.
• Wash/mop of stairs, corridors, and stone floors
• Pay attention to and ensure the hygienic standard of sanitary facilities at all the times;
• Replace water bottles in water dispensers
• Ensure that all toiletries and cleaning material are always available
• Informs the supervisor immediately in cases of defects with any material, water pipes, taps or basins or any other issues so they can be repaired.
• Remove and clean snow, rainwater, ice, mud and any other obstacles created by the nature or human errors
• Ensures that the toilets, paths, sidewalks, gardens, roofs and offices are free of any dangerous items, flammables, sharp objects, icy and wet floors, falling objects and any other substances that threats the staff wellbeing
• Distributes the collected trash in predefined recycling bins after collection from the offices
• Perform any other relevant duty assigned by the supervisor.
Institutional arrangement: The Office Cleaner will work under the direct supervision of the Administration and Common Service Unit
Payment: Monthly basis
Duration of the assignment: Till end of year 2024 and with possibility of extension
Duty station: Kabul
Job Requirements
Education, Experience and Skills:
• Graduation from High School is an advantage
• Minimum of 2-4 years of work experience as a cleaner (preferably with UN or National/International Organizations) is required
• Good knowledge of cleaning is required; and
• Good communication skill with clients is required.
Language Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills in Dari/Pashto are required; at least basic understanding of English language is desirable
