Support Children and Afghan Women Needs Organization (SCAWNO) is a non-profit NGO registered with the Ministry of Economy of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, registration number 1174 in 2028. Established by a group of dedicated and qualified Afghan professionals, SCAWNO aims to promote community development, good governance, democracy building, and capacity building. The organization was founded by members of Local Youth Councils, with a mission to contribute positively to the development process of communities in Afghanistan through capacity building, women’s rights awareness, gender-based violence, children’s protection awareness, legal consultation, economic sustainability, income generation projects, literacy, vocational training, health education, and teacher training. SCAWNO’s vision is to create a peaceful, free, and developed Afghanistan based on good Afghan cultural values, where the population lives in peace, with self-dignity and self-sufficiency, and where people manage their own personal development and the development of the society in which they live.

Job Description:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily implementation of project activities in designated districts, ensuring adherence to timelines and objectives.
  • Coordinate the distribution of toolkits and inputs to beneficiaries, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Facilitate beneficiary selection in collaboration with community mobilizers and local committees, prioritizing vulnerable households.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites to assess progress and beneficiary satisfaction.
  • Collect data and maintain accurate records of beneficiary participation, distribution activities, and community feedback.
  • Collaborate closely with the M&E Coordinator to provide updates on project progress and challenges.
  • Community Engagement:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local authorities, and stakeholders to foster support for project activities.
  • Organize community meetings and awareness sessions to inform beneficiaries about project objectives and processes.
  • Implement and manage community feedback and complaint mechanisms, addressing concerns promptly.
  • Capacity Building:
  • Assist in training beneficiaries on agricultural practices, including the use of vegetable kits and tools provided.
  • Promote awareness of climate-smart agricultural techniques and best practices to enhance sustainability and food security.
  • Logistics and Coordination:
  • Coordinate logistics for the procurement, transportation, and distribution of agricultural inputs, ensuring compliance with project standards.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and report any shortages or issues to the project management team.
  • Work with the Master Trainer to coordinate training sessions and ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Reporting:
  • Prepare regular reports on field activities, beneficiary interactions, and project progress for submission to project management.
  • Maintain documentation related to beneficiary selection, distribution processes, and community engagement efforts.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Project Management, or a related field A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in managing agriculture or rural development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing donor-funded projects, including those from organizations such as the UN, EU, and USAID.

  • In-depth knowledge of agricultural best practices and an understanding of rural community dynamics.
  • Exceptional project management, leadership, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in financial management and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Fluency in English and local languages (Dari and Pashto).
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
