Support Children and Afghan Women Needs Organization (SCAWNO) is a non-profit NGO registered with the Ministry of Economy of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, registration number 1174 in 2028. Established by a group of dedicated and qualified Afghan professionals, SCAWNO aims to promote community development, good governance, democracy building, and capacity building. The organization was founded by members of Local Youth Councils, with a mission to contribute positively to the development process of communities in Afghanistan through capacity building, women’s rights awareness, gender-based violence, children’s protection awareness, legal consultation, economic sustainability, income generation projects, literacy, vocational training, health education, and teacher training. SCAWNO’s vision is to create a peaceful, free, and developed Afghanistan based on good Afghan cultural values, where the population lives in peace, with self-dignity and self-sufficiency, and where people manage their own personal development and the development of the society in which they live.
Job Description:
Main Responsibilities:
- Program Planning and Implementation:
- Design and implement program activities in line with SCAWNO’s strategic objectives.
- Develop detailed work plans, budgets, and timelines for program activities.
- Ensure programs are implemented effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with donor requirements.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program performance.
- Collect and analyze data to inform program improvements.
- Prepare regular reports on program progress, challenges, and outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local government, NGOs, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Represent SCAWNO in national and provincial meetings to communicate program goals and impact.
- Capacity Building:
- Provide training and support to program staff and community volunteers.
- Foster a learning environment to enhance team performance and program effectiveness.
- Resource Management:
- Prepare and oversee program budgets, ensuring accountability and transparency.
- Monitor resource utilization to ensure alignment with program objectives.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained according to SCAWNO and donor requirements.
- Respond promptly to donor inquiries and prepare high-quality project reports.
- Community Engagement:
- Conduct regular assessments to identify community needs and prioritize interventions.
- Facilitate community involvement in program design and implementation.
- Other Duties:
- Assist the Program Manager in preparing progress and final reports.
- Perform any other duties as required by the line manager.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in livelihood skills development, literacy (education), and humanitarian work, including field experience in program management and community engagement.
- Experience working with national/international organizations.
- Proven ability to work with a range of stakeholders, including project-affected communities, government officials, and donors
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Fluency in Dari, Pashto, and English.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
- Sensitivity to Islamic culture and gender issues.
