Required Competencies

  • Excellent training facilitation and interpersonal skills.

  • Has good ideas about and relation with local level organizations/fast line responders working in emergencies. .

Technical Skills

  • Has intensive knowledge of ISCG, GBV SS Guideline and Case Management Guideline.
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written in English and Bangla
  • Computer skills on MS word, Excel, PowerPoint Develop short and long-term program strategies and budget under the priority

Project: Promoting Women and Girls’ Empowerment through Enhancing Protection and Economic Resilience of Rohingya Women and Adolescent Girls in 3 Camps- Phase III (Funded by UN Women)

Job Summary

Officer – Psychosocial Support is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions through therapy, counselling, and psychological testing. Officer – Psychosocial Support provides support to individuals, couples, and groups to promote emotional well-being, manage stress, and address behavioural challenges. Psychologists work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to create treatment plans and offer evidence-based interventions tailored to each client’s needs.

Key responsibilities include (not limited to)

Providing MHPSS Support training:

  • Demonstrate experiences in GBV Case Management and MHPSS in emergency contexts.
  • Implementing psychosocial activities and providing psychological consultations on a regular basis.
  • Assess the survivors’ psychological condition by using psychological tools to detect vulnerable cases and ensure psychological follow up.
  • Ensure all work with survivors is confidential and that ethical practices are observed.
  • Ensure that the MH Data Tool is accurately updated on a regular basis.
  • Ensure strong coordination among the existing facility staff for strengthening the case management process and referral mechanism through enhanced capacity for survivor-centered services to render the proper services to GBV survivors.
  • Supporting the team by providing guidance and capacity building for the implementation of qualitative psychosocial care and mental health activities.
  • Regular monitor the PFA and PSS services following the relevant guidelines for proper case management of survivors. Provide required case management and MHPSS supervision support.

Training Facilitation:

  • Facilitate training on Gender based Violence (GBV) in emergency, PFA, PSS, referral mechanism, MHPSS, trauma management, stress management in emergency, humanitarian principles, existing laws and policies with national instruments, ISCG and GVB SS guidelines, CHS and minimum standards for ensuring the effective and timely implementation of the operational activities of the project.
  • Facilitate training on ToT for GBV actors on lifesaving integrated SRH/GBV intervention during emergencies including case management, PFA and PSS.
  • Arrange regular training on PFA and PSS for upgrading the knowledge of Case Coordinator, Case Worker and Midwife and for ensuring their better performance.
  • Assist to arrange training of GBV network members, GBV actors, non-GBV actors for strengthening their capacity on lifesaving integrated SRH/GBV intervention during emergencies including case management, PFA and PSS to run day to day WFS activities skillfully and to increase the awareness of the respective stakeholders.

Strengthening Network:

  • Develop and strengthen the coordination and collaboration among GOs and NGOs for establishing a strong GBV referral pathway for ensuring the availability of survivor-centred GBV services in remotest areas and making sure the functionality of GBV actors at local level.
  • Contribute to strengthening the coordination and collaboration among GOs and NGOs for establishing a strong GBV network for ensuring the availability of GBV services in remotest areas and making sure the functionality of GBV actors at local level.
  • Advocacy and networking with the frontliner GBV service providers.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Introduce GBVIMS and provide technical support for GBV data documentation in a confidential manner.
  • Document Mental Health data accurately in the intake forms.
  • Documenting timely progress information including both quantitative and qualitative information on MHPSS activities.
  • Prepare accurate reports for all Psycho-social related activities.
  • Design of data collection forms, ensuring that the purpose and use of all data collected is clear, questions are simple, clear, collectable, and easily analyzed highlighting where potential problems might arise; organize and manage the data input and initial analysis and presentation of data for reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, half yearly report on PSS and MHPSS activities and assist to prepare annual report, develop and edit case stories and other necessary reports when needed.
  • Develop and contribute to relevant analytical reports on GBV trends, safety audits, and GBV assessments as part of disseminating the relevant outcomes and learnings of the project.

Team Building:

  • Maintain smooth interpersonal communication within teams and organizations.
  • Collect relevant knowledge materials and contribute to strengthening team member’s capacity through sharing knowledge and information.

  • The person holds this position will be reportable to the Project Manager- Protection and Livelihood.

Compensation & Other Benefits

Monthly Gross Salary BDT. 74,356 with other admissible benefits such as mobile & internet allowance, medical benefit, group life insurance etc
