PLG consists of a network of liaison offices spread globally and a cross-cuting partnerships development team based in Copenhagen. PLG works with a variety of partners, from the UN family to governments, multilateral development banks, non-governmental organizations, academia and the private sector. UNOPS partners call on us to supplement their own capacities, improve efficiency and transparency, reduce risks, boost cost-effectiveness and ensure quality.

As a corporate function, PLG specifically:

  • Leads on global partnership engagement and management
  • Ensures that UNOPS strategic priorities are reflected across partnership engagements
  • Serves as a resource for the Executive Office and UNOPS at large to advance on the UNOPS strategy through tailored data and analysis services
  • Tasked to drive high-level thought leadership on partnership diversification and growth
  • Steer partnership-related policy discussions, including the development of corporate framework initiatives

 

Background Information – Partner Analytics and Management Support Team:

As part of the Partnerships Development Team in Copenhagen, the Partner Analytics team aims to empower informed partnerships decision-making at all levels of the organisation through strategic intelligence and innovative, data-driven tools; to position UNOPS as a partner of choice. This includes;

  • Mangement of partner focussed data and dashboards and production of high-level partner anaysis and presentations
  • Coordination of briefing materials for the Executive Office
  • Management of the UNOPS external partner survey
  • Development of Partnership management systems and tools

Education:

  • Advanced Degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) is required, preferably related either to the subject matter area (e.g. Development Finance, International Relations or Global Development) and/or data analysis component (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent).
  • A combination of a Bachelor’s degree with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the education requirements outlined above.

Experience:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience where they have demonstrated one or more of the following required skills:
      • Analysing, evaluating, and reporting business-related data and/or statistics, ideally in the subject-matter area
      • Advanced expertise in spreadsheet tools (e.g,. Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel)
      • Data communication and visualisation through a variety of media – such as presentations, training, reports, dashboards
      • Building dashboards in Google Data Studio or an equivalent dashboard platform (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • PLG will consider candidates with a combination of relevant technical expertise (i.e., data analysis, dashboard development) and subject-matter knowledge. Candidates may be stronger in one of these than the other but should be enthusiastic to learn new skills on the job.
  • Knowledge, education/background, or experience in Development Finance is considered as an asset.
  • Experience working with SQL coding (our team uses Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery) is considered an asset for the role. Training may be made available to the incumbent to fill any skill gaps.

Language:

  • Full working knowledge of English is essential.
  • Fluency in other UN languages, in particular French and Spanish, is an asset
