Agency for Assistance and Development of Afghanistan (AADA) is an Afghan non-profit non-governmental organization working for the development of Afghanistan mainly through (1) provision of quality health services; (2) community development; (3) training and capacity building at professional and community levels; and (4) research in topics of public health and social sciences besides various projects in different parts of Afghanistan.
Job Description:
1.Supervision and Quality Control
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to supported health facilities to ensure proper storage, dispensing, and record-keeping practices.
- Enforce adherence to MoPH standard treatment guidelines and national essential drug lists.
- Monitor rational prescription practices (Routine use of NSTG in prescriptions and prevent overuse or misuse of antibiotics and controlled substances).
- Take part on collecting and checking the pharmacy reports, and report making to line supervisor.
2. Stock and Inventory Management
- If needed Take part in warehouse management, receiving and distribution of medicine,
- Review pharmacy records, consumption reports, and balance sheets submitted by Stock Keepers and facility pharmacists.
- Monitor expiry dates, wastage, and stock levels across all sites.
- Support in forecasting drug needs and emergency buffer stock.
- To provide emergency kits for muss causalities and first aid kits for the office and for vehicles travelling around.
3. Capacity Building
- Provide training and mentoring for pharmacists, midwives, nurses, and CHWs on rational drug use, safe dispensing, infection prevention, use of NSTG, and pharmacy records.
- Coach stock keepers on proper warehouse/HFs techniques (FEFO/ FIFO, temperature control, documentation).
4. Coordination
- Coordinate with procurement/supply chain units for timely resupply of pharmaceuticals and medical consumables.
- Liaise with health cluster, MoPH pharmaceutical department, and partners regarding national policies and reporting requirements.
- Report urgent stock shortages, supply chain blockages, expiry Drugs, Proper planning for use Expiry Drug in HFs or counterfeit medication risks to management.
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Provide proper supervision, make reports, keep clear and save documentation.
- Ensure on time reporting to the line supervisor.
- Provide analytical updates on drug consumption trends and needs.
- To perform any other official task assigned by line supervisor and Head Quarter team.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience including pharmacy management or supervisory roles.
- Familiarity with MoPH guidelines, essential medicines list, and WHO standards.
- Strong knowledge of drug storage (cold chain, controlled medicines, IPC).
- Computer literacy with office program and basic database use.
- Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; English desirable.
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills; ability to train staff effectively.
