Job Description:
- The Procurement Officer assists the Procurement Manager in overseeing the purchasing of goods and services required by the organization. This role involves supporting procurement planning, supplier management, procurement process management, risk management, inventory management, and quality control activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Procurement Planning:
- Assist in collaborating with department heads to determine procurement needs and develop procurement procedures.
- Support in assessing current inventory levels and updating the inventory list.
- Assist in Supplier Management:
- Sourcing and evaluating potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
- Support in negotiating contracts and terms of agreements with suppliers.
- Assist in maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and monitoring supplier performance.
- Procurement Process Support:
- Assist in coordinating the procurement process from requisition to delivery.
- Reviewing purchase requisitions and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and budgetary constraints.
- Support in obtaining necessary approvals from finance and other departments.
- Inventory Management Support:
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of inventory levels and transactions.
- Monitoring stock levels and initiating procurement actions as needed.
- – Contribute to implementing inventory control measures under the guidance of the Procurement Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent
- Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience as a procurement officer or related position
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels
- Goal-oriented, organized team player.
