This announcement corresponds to a vacancy currently available in the city of Bogotá. However, we are seeking to establish a roster of qualified candidates who may be considered for future opportunities in other cities where operational needs arise.

 

Candidates who meet the requirements, following an evaluation of their profile and experience, may be included in the roster of eligible candidates, which will remain valid for up to 24 months. Inclusion on the roster does not guarantee immediate hiring, but it will allow candidates to be contacted if new relevant vacancies arise.

 

JOB TITLE : Program Assistant for Data Management and Analytics​​​

UNIDAD: RAM (Research, Assessment and Monitoring)

DESTINATION PLACE (CITY, COUNTRY): Multilocation

DURATION: Six (6) months, extendable according to performance and availability of resources

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

 

The World Food Programme (WFP) in Colombia is a strategic partner of the State in the implementation of public policies aimed at improving food and nutritional security for the most vulnerable populations. Through its 2024–2028 Country Strategic Plan, WFP contributes to achieving Zero Hunger and other Sustainable Development Goals through interventions that strengthen community resilience, promote the transformation of food systems, and support the development of local markets for small producers.

 

To ensure the quality and effectiveness of these interventions, WFP prioritizes the strategic management of beneficiary information throughout all phases of the program cycle: from registration and validation to programming, distribution, and reconciliation of assistance. Timely analysis of this data improves operational efficiency, ensures traceability, and supports evidence-based decision-making.

 

Within this framework, the RAM (Research, Assessment, and Monitoring) Unit leads the evaluation, monitoring, and context analysis processes, ensuring that programmatic decisions are based on reliable and relevant information. Within RAM, the Identity Management (IDM) team plays a key role in managing systems and processes related to beneficiary data, ensuring compliance with principles of security, privacy, and proper information management.

 

The selected candidate will work in the RAM Unit’s IDM team. Under the supervision of the Data Management, Analytics, and Innovation Associate, they will join a multidisciplinary team of analysts and data specialists. In addition to performing data management, analytics, anomaly detection, and monitoring tasks, they will contribute to the establishment of strategies, policies, and procedures for the proper processing of data, its subsequent analysis, and its use to support decision-making. Their work will be key to generating evidence that strengthens the quality and effectiveness of WFP’s programs in Colombia.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, document, and optimize processes for capturing, storing, cleaning, and reconciling large volumes of data, prioritizing efficiency, scalability, security, and traceability.
  • Propose technical solutions that facilitate the integration of multiple data sources and improve access to information for internal users, ensuring consistency and operational utility.
  • Develop tools in programming languages ​​such as Python and R to support the management, analysis, and generation of reports resulting from program implementation.
  • Design interactive dashboards and dynamic reports that facilitate informed decision-making by operational and strategic areas.
  • Support the definition and implementation of data management policies and standards, ensuring the integrity, consistency, and protection of beneficiary information.
  • Provide technical advice to area offices and internal units on the use of corporate beneficiary information management systems, including queries, reports, and best practices.
  • Propose and implement continuous improvements to data pipelines, incorporating modern data engineering and science practices.
  • Gain self-directed knowledge from WFP’s e-learning platform, online technical forums, and other resources to effectively fulfill their responsibilities and share this knowledge with other WFP Colombia members.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

 

Education:

Completion of secondary education. A professional degree in systems engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field, mathematics , or statistics is desirable; specific courses in analytics and data management are desirable.

 

Experience:

4 or more years of experience related to business intelligence, data management, and analytics.

 

Desirable experience:

Specific knowledge of data processing and analytics technologies such as Python, R, SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.

 

Languages:

Oral and written fluency in Spanish, knowledge of English is desirable.
