About Organization
The largest humanitarian organization in the world battling hunger is the United Nations World Food Programme. WFP’s goal is to contribute to the world’s effort to eradicate hunger during our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works in every country to make sure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the most vulnerable and impoverished people, especially women and children, have access to the wholesome food they require.
Ethiopia’s Country Strategic Plan (CSP) 2020–2025 was introduced by WFP CO in 2020. The five-year country strategy plan is based on the WFP’s acknowledged areas of strength as well as solid strategic and operational alliances with the government, businesses, NGOs, and other UN agencies. While the majority of operations continue to focus on meeting the immediate and short-term needs of refugees, internally displaced people, and other undernourished and food-insecure people, there is a focus on expanding and stepping up initiatives related to the humanitarian-development-peace nexus for climate change adaptation, resilience, and livelihood diversification. WFP has a strong emphasis on preventing malnutrition, fostering resilience, and integrating nutrition issues and gender equality across the portfolio.
