Context
Corporate Services Division safeguards UNEP’s corporate interests by providing it with tools and plans for efficient and effective management and by managing its exposure to risk. It does so in line with the core values of the United Nations as well as all other relevant rules, regulations and accountability requirements.
Task description
1.Administrative assistance
•Compiles, summarizes, and presents basic information/data on specific programmes /project and related topics or issues.
•Assists in reviewing project documents, for completeness and compliance with relevant rules and procedures prior to submission for final approval and signature; identifies inconsistencies.
•Follows-up on administrative tasks such as obtaining necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions in consultation with the supervisor.
•Provides administrative assistance with iNeed Service requests.
•Provides assistance with asset and space management as applicable.
2. Technical assistance and troubleshooting
•Assists in supporting use of corporate tools such as MS Teams, Webex, Zoom and MDirector.
•Troubleshoots issues with access to relevant platforms in UNEP.
•Assist in the analysis of miscellaneous data using such tools as Excel and Power BI.
•Assist with user quality assurance and testing for ESS developed applications and portals
3. Perform other tasks as required.
Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to:
•Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day).
•Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country.
•Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities.
•Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.
•Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly arrived UN Volunteers.
•Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.
