Purpose for the job
Under the general guidance of the Programme Specialist, the programme Officer (GRM) is accountable for providing technical support on the followings:
(1) providing direct support to the Implementing partners and UNICEF grievances officers.
(2) monitoring the performance of Implementing partners and UNICEF staff in dealing with the assigned grievances.
(3) UNICEF technical coordination for GRM
(4) ensuring that all grievances are addressed promptly and fairly, promoting trust and accountability within the community.
(5) enhancing the transparency of project activities through clear communication and effective complaint resolution. This encompasses both direct programmes work with civil society partners, contractors as well as coordination with and support to UNICEF teams working on health and nutrition areas.
Duties & Responsibilities

Minimum requirements:
- A University Degree (bachelor or higher) in social sciences or a related science relevant to the work of UNICEF.
- A minimum one year of relevant professional experience in programme development and implementation.
- Experience in working with the Implementing Partners
- Experience in grievances redressal mechanism oversight.
- Experience in Accountability to Affected populations and Risk Communication and Community Engagement
- Experience in working in Health-related projects and programme is an asset.
- Fluency in English as a working language. Knowledge of local languages (Pashto and Dari) is required.
- Knowledge of another UN language an asset.
Desirables:
- Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
