Overview
Jhpiego Ethiopia is seeking a Project Coordinator/Team Lead to join our Response-Recovery-Resilience for Conflict-Affected Communities in Ethiopia Project (3R-4-CACE). The successful candidate will oversee a mapping and rapid assessment of existing gender-based violence (GBV) referral services and providers and help guide the development of a comprehensive capacity building strategy and roll out of trainings for conflict and climate affected communities.

The Project Coordinator/Team Lead will ensure that program implementation in target areas adheres to nationally and internationally recognized standards. They will coordinate program activities, optimize budget use, and provide technical support to field staff.

Responsibilities
Leadership:

Program Leadership: Under the guidance of the Technical Director and donor, provide technical and programmatic leadership to ensure project integrity and achievement of goals.
Quality Standards: Contribute to setting and maintaining high standards for program implementation.
Team Building: Foster teamwork and partnership among project staff, providing leadership to field-based teams and promoting cross-functional collaboration and learning.
Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with the donor and other key stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation.
Reporting and Planning: Support the development of donor reports, program deliverables, implementation plans, training plans, and other relevant documents.
Field Oversight: Ensure that field-based staff in four regions collaborate with woredas and implement the project according to agreed-upon deliverables and timelines.
Program Implementation: Support effective implementation of various project components to achieve desired program quality.
Program Management and Implementation

Program Management: Proactively support program implementation plans and budgets, monitor activities, and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of donor-specified deliverables.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for cooperation and ensure coordinated program implementation to avoid duplication of efforts.
Staff Supervision: Oversee technical and program staff, participate in performance reviews, and monitor outputs and program results in collaboration with the M&E team and stakeholders.
Knowledge Management and Sharing

Knowledge Management: Ensure documentation, follow-up, and knowledge sharing across programs to promote program learning.
Technical Expertise: Collaborate with partner technical experts to ensure program strategies and interventions are technically sound and evidence-based.
Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate information and knowledge sharing with other Jhpiego projects in Ethiopia and globally.
Representation and Advocacy: Represent Jhpiego at national and international levels, engage in networking and advocacy activities, and collaborate with partners such as UN agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, and professional bodies to advance advocacy issues.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning

M&E Support: Collaborate with the M&E team to track progress, review and interpret results, and prepare reports for relevant audiences.
Corrective Actions: In conjunction with the M&E team and under the guidance of the Technical Director, use monitoring findings to develop necessary corrective actions.
Learning Agenda: Contribute to identifying and prioritizing the project’s learning agenda.
Documentation: Support the systematic documentation of learnings from project implementation, including challenges and failures.
Reporting: Work with the M&E team to prepare annual, quarterly, and other necessary reports.
Learning Agenda: Contribute to shaping and delivering the project’s learning agenda, including leading specific learning initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education: Postgraduate degree in sociology, social work, psychology, economics, social/behavioral science, health, or a related field.
Experience: At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in designing, leading, and delivering mapping and rapid assessments of GBV services and capacity building trainings in large-scale government or international donor-funded programs in Ethiopia or other countries.
Team Management: At least 7 years of experience managing a multi-disciplinary research team.
Contextual Understanding: Excellent understanding of the Ethiopian socio-political context.
Regional Experience: Previous experience from Ethiopian regions is preferred.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in Amharic, English, and/or Afan Oromo, Afar.
Writing Skills: Excellent report writing skills in English.
Data Analysis: Proven ability to analyze data and produce high-quality reports.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication, teamwork, relationship building, and strong work ethic.
Program Management: Excellent program management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Facilitation Skills: Excellent facilitation, presentation, team building, negotiation, and coordination skills.
Travel: Willingness to travel 30% of the time within Ethiopia.
Additional Languages: Knowledge of additional local languages of project target regions is an asset.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Basic starting Salary per year : USD 22,966 (subject to income tax and pension contribution)
